Sounds like the oldest boy took a class or classes......maybe a classmate would have some info.......but he could have escaped and notified someone and didn't. Too scared, I guess.

Louise accompanied him to his classes, waited for him to finish and took him back.
This kid was probably threatened that if he tried to escape, the rest of the kids would be punished for it.

Out of curiosity, are the parents on suicide watch?

I take back every post I've made on this thread. I thought the case was absolutely horrific from the start, but I looked for "reasons" that it happened....manic depression, being overwhelmed, recent spiral downward, etc. Forget all that.

There is no "reason" to explain this torture. I'm starting over with my assessment of all this.

I've never been this ANGRY over a case before. The selfishness and cruelty we are learning is incredible. They were not parents, but CRUEL creatures.

And I've never been so proud of a victim....17yo, you ROCK. You're a hero. Wow.

I thought it was an old phone that was no longer connected to service?

That's what I heard/read too...that it was a deactivated cell phone.

I am curious about the living quarters in Texas where they, at least for some period of time, lived apart from the kids.
They would take food to them and then leave. Where were they living, and where were these kids being 'stored'?

Not surprised by the lewd charge and assuming there will be more as time goes on.

Maybe one of the girls is pregnant.

Who exactly are these "friends" that they had said good bye to? And how did they not pick up on anything?

Still wouldn’t you think there would have been evidence at least of malnourishment 4 years ago???? I want to know why the doc didn’t report them?

This may have been the little girl who was bitten by family dog, got stitches, dog euthanized.

Reminds me of the monsters who took Jaycee Dugaard

Did the house have Wi-Fi? The two girls could've used the "deactivated" phone to surf the web and find out how to get help.

Headline news here in the U.K, as I guess it is all over the world.
I'm a lurker usually, but this is the most shocking case I've ever came across. Poor kids :(

They went to high school outside the home; neither were homeschooled.

Reminds me of David Eisenhauer and Natalie Keepers - both Virginia Tech students who were home schooled & went to church schools. At UVA, they kidnapped and murdered 13 yo Nicole Lovell.

There seems to be a toxic cultural mix between high intellect/high achieving students who are raised in fundamentalist religious cultures where they grow up isolated from normal society.
