Do you have a source for the 36 acre farm? I could only find an address that leads to a 1 acre lot.

Where can I find the CA database? Also, why are they in a database? Is it because of their hospital births? Why were they were so scared to even share their names with their neighbors? Is this some half-assed form of off-gridding? DT has a job with a real company and went to school, and they both have bills, bank accounts, hospital records, etc so we know they're not completely off the grid. But it seems they wanted their children to be, even if they were birthed in hospitals and one has registered for classes.

DT and LT would report a missing baby if one of theirs died? I find it hard to believe they'd want that kind of attention on themselves. Do you mean to suggest they stole a baby?

I just watched the 2015 video and I wonder why they went around Halloween in 2011 also. Did they want to avoid trick-or-treaters? I wonder what that neighborhood is like.

Is it weird that I want to hear the 911 call?

My comment about a missing baby is me wondering if they may have "found" a baby or "acquired" a baby when they could not conceive. Totally IMO.

The CA database is something from a prior thread (thread #1, post #254). You can access data for private schools, and find out how many students are enrolled if the school has 6 or more students. Here is the link:https://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ps/ . There is only data for the past 3 years for Sandcastle, even though they registered as a private home school in 2011. In each database, if you scroll down to Riverside County, and then find the Sandcastle day School, you can see how many children of each grade level were enrolled. No names.

36 acre home has been mentioned in numerous articles, and here is one, which I found by typing "Turpin 36 acre home texas" into Google. I love Google sometimes! :) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...in-kids-says-family-left-kitten-dumpster.html

I guess I don't know what pictures you are talking about. The pictures at Disney and in LV the kids arms are in clear sight. Which photos are you referencing? I may have missed those.

Something is off jmho with the Thing themed shirt photo. Huge hand on #10 and around 12 (maybe backwards) but people around those don't match with arms. Is it Photoshop? But as far as Disneyland photos, I believe they are legitimate as there are some with other people and I am IIRC the people either commented and/or liked. At least 2 different.

You have to enter Disneyland to get that photo

and given their propensity to rack up credit card debt, I don't think they cared too much how much it cost. "just put it on the card!" IMO

Hopefully they learned to talk in "code" while writing in their journals, and everything they have been through is documented...every time I see the monster egg/sperm donors it makes me gag...him with his double chin and can of popped biscuits stomach..he never went without a morsel of food! And she with her Cheshire cat smile has not missed a meal either. I do not like the word hate...but that is exactly what I feel looking at them.

They had 2 cars and the van in 2011- all 3 new vehicles were bought in a 2 month period in 2009.

They bought the farm house in Texas in 1999 for $40k. It was foreclosed upon in 2010.

They bought the double wide trailer in 2004, for $45,283. It was repossessed in 2010.

Their debtors were mostly multiple banks (for many tens of thousands in credit card debt), but also included a phone company (over $1k of unpaid bills), a pest control company & utilities, and of course, the lein holders for all 3 vehicles.

Do engineers have a "night shift"?! Most I know get to choose their hours, work from home if they choose, etc. It's not like clocking in at a factory when you are at that level.

If you go through the bankruptcy paperwork, you'll find pay stubs from DT which verify he worked a different shift.
<modsnip>

In defense, they may need to have engineers on all hours, and there may be a pay bonus for working the later shifts. Not sure.
Here are bankruptcy docs: https://heavy.com/news/2018/01/louise-turpin-david-bankruptcy-family-perris/

it looked so weird and I was thinking photoshop too, I also thought photshop according to disney castle, it is not that hard to insert a whole family infront of something they never been to, I am assuming that it can´t be so difficult for an engineer to do.

I am beginning to think the baby wasn't starved because mom knew this would be her last child if she was indeed her biological daughter. I can't get over how sick it is that these two paraded these poor kids to Las Vegas and Disney Land all the while knowing they were torturing and starving them. There is something really twisted about these two forcing them to pretend to be happy. Were the pics some kind of thing to lord over their children's heads, the "what could be" just like the apple pies? I am sure the pics and videos had more than one use: show the world everything was fine. I don't care what mental illness these idiots will claim to have as a defense, the facts remain that these 🤬🤬🤬 kept them up at night to hide them from the world which shows me they knew darn well what they were doing was wrong. Oh and the thought that they could have had a wonderful cushy life, if they had managed their finances better, nurtured their children and allowed them to go on their way at the appropriate times and probably have been enjoying grandchildren just eats me up. They instead put more energy into tormenting their own flesh and blood. Sick!

Great idea!

I've already started putting together a care package so far including
colouring books for kids and adults
bulk backs of girls knickers
multiple pairs of unused shoes
emotional coping books
little fun fact books which hopefully will encourage curiosity to explore the world

I want to help as much as I can but I feel I won't make much of an impact here in Australia.

Apparently there was quite a stench in the house. Maybe their clothes smelled so awful they couldn't wear them to court.

Most likely just easier to bring them clothing for many reasons. Jmho

I didn't know that we knew any of the kids names except first few and those it was first names with J. Could be one a named with middle name. But anyway the ones we have names for are all adults now.

Yes, we are privy to them all expect the youngest. They are all J names so I would place a bet that the 2 year old is not named Elizabeth.

I suppose you could be right but I can't see the expense of driving/flying there and just taking a picture to fool people. I tend to believe unless these are photo shopped they really went and the severe abuse happened after. Also they are actually inside the gates so they had to go in to get these pictures, again unless they are photoshopped.

ETA: I believe abuse occurred before during and after these photos but I think the severe abuse was after. While the kids look slender they don't look emaciated. It seems something changed after these pictures to me at least.

In the presser yesterday, the DA indicated the abuse started in Texas, and that the neglect (including not providing proper nutrition) began in Texas long before the abuse. This was decades of neglect and abuse. The tieing to beds and furniture began in Texas. The withholding of bathroom access began in Texas. Their social isolation began in Texas. Their arrested development is testament to a decade or more of poor treatment. When I look at the photos from 2015/16, the older children look especially bad. The ones who are seen from a more side angle, especially. A lot can be hidden in a photo. I think the reason we see no photos after 2016 is that they could no longer hide it in the photos. Posting photos would have attracted more attention at that point.
These poor siblings. What a horrific experience.

About their claim that they spent $2.5k a month on food. That translates to $625 a week. To state the obvious, it couldn't possibly have cost them $625 a week to feed their children one meal a day. But....it sure does suggest a consciousness of guilt that they claimed to spend what would have been an reasonable amount to actually feed, not starve their children.

I agree with you both. I had a friend from ages 6-14 who was horribly abused. All us kids in the neighborhood knew it. I remember sitting on the curb with her at age 7 or 8 and saying, "Do you know what child abuse is? You are being abused." I mean she had whip marks on her and spoke to some of us kids about the abuse.

Strangely, not one of us kids told a parent or anyone. Although it was obvious to the adults that the parents were weird and super strict and then slowly began to isolate her. The girl was always being punished. She was always grounded. It got longer and longer and more and more frequent until she just stopped being allowed out at all. Eventually they took her out of school and put her in a private school, I think. But the same kind of strange thing as here- we stopped seeing her during the day but neighbors saw her forced to do calisthenics on the lawn at 3:00 a.m. and yard work.

When I got to junior high, I hadn't seen her in about a year. I actually ditched school one day and went to the other junior high to see if she had been enrolled there (because that's what her parents were telling neighbors). None of the kids heard of her.

When I started ninth grade I finally hopped the fence and looked through her window. I could see in. It looked like someone was living in there. I recall a potty type chair (we were 14). And stuff i can't recall that made it seem like she was eating all her food in there.

I called a child abuse hotline. (Still didn't tell my parents!) They sent an officer out who spoke to me and walked with me to the house. I showed them which room. This was after telling them everything about the abuse and how she disappeared. The officer (female) looked in.

The next thing I recall was it was now night time, and officers (she had called for back up) had been waiting for hours. The father and mother came home but went right inside. (I don;t remember if the girl was with them). The police knocked on the door and ordered them to come out. The dad opened the door with a gun in his hand and the lady cop de-gunned him as they pile-drived him or something. It was awesome to everyone (by that time the whole neighborhood was out on the street trying to see what would happen) that it was a female cop who took the lead because the father was a real creepy, stern, patriarch and misogynist.

In the end, she was located and put in foster care for a couple years. Our family got to take her out a couple times during that. But her parents got her back and they all left the state. Never heard from her again.

I had nightmares about her for years, about me going into her room, where she sits in the dark with graffiti all over the walls that she had written, (I don't know if that was true in real life. I don;t think so) and she turns her head toward me and she's insane. But she tells me, "Run. He's coming."

I had that dream several times, with variations. Scary as hell.

Her case was nothing like this one. Not close to as bad. My long point is that even though she went to public schools, and in the middle there one private school, none of the schools tracked her when she stopped going, to my knowledge. I mean kids can and are yanked form schools and kept at home all the time in these abusive situations. So what can be done about that?

This is chilling, gitana1. This would be a terrifying and unforgettable childhood experience; so glad you contacted authorities and helped your friend get a reprieve--at least for a time. (Don't have to answer, but I'm curious--might this childhood experience have fed into your pursuing your adult occupation?)

Her name is Elisabeth Jane. I’m just wondering if there could have been a girl named Jane somewhere in the mix?

There is a Jeanette. Perhaps her middle name is Elisabeth? She may have bent the truth a bit there to make herself seem more relevant and important....

Still catching up, thanks everyone for the updates and awesome posts.

I wonder if the wife will try to claim that she herself was abused and forced to comply/participate due to fear for her own life....surely there have been cases here where the wife's defense was as such? And if so, what was the outcome (o/t)? Did the court buy it? Could there be (legal) merit to such a defense here, essentially coersion? Tia, great to have attorneys gitana1 and Alethea here.

Yes, I think the abuse got even worse and more noticeable after 2016 - and perhaps with LT's parents both passing, she didn't have the drive to "show" the extended family proof of the kids' well-being any longer.

Also, more and more questions about the oldest kids would start arising. The oldest is approaching 30 and I'm sure family members would start asking well-meaning questions about careers, romantic relationships, moving out, etc.

Unless the 2 year old is named Jane, the Turpins have no daughters with that name. An earlier poster in maybe the 2nd thread posted an obituary for David Turpin's grandmother where David commented and listed all the kids in order. This was before the baby was born.

I doubt the sister, Elizabeth Jane Flores, has any credibility. She's definitely a liar in my eyes. She claims she had no contact in recent years but they were friends on Facebook. Now, this is completely MOO based on what I've seen, heard, and read but I believe that Louise Turpin was closer with her sister Elizabeth than she was to her other siblings. I think she and Elizabeth are close in age whereas the others are younger and were not as close to her. The other brother and sister seem more credible. I can't remember the brother's name but the sister is Teresa Robinette. I believe them when they say they had no clue about anything, I don't believe Elizabeth.

Here's an interesting but short video I found of her brother and sister Teresa speaking about Louise and David Turpin's early life.
https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-new...charged-with-torture-speaks-out-1138262595763

I missed the obituary so will have to go back. But the were FB friends true, but the only photos available were profile and cover. Timeline and other photos if any were not viewable unless you were friends. And every comment was a few years back, at least 2 yrs. I think that one has been taken down now. LT had one with her maiden name and it was same.

I was just thinking, over coffee of course, what a strange case this is. I mean, the captivity makes it hard to believe anyway but then add in that these were both the biological parents, the number of the children and then the trips to Disneyland during the captive periods. My mind is a complete mess over this. (Just thinking out loud).
