A Hart Union staff member discovered the social media posts “regarding committing acts of school violence” and alerted authorities, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives quickly determined who had made the posts, according to the agency. It’s unclear whether those threats were connected Thursday’s shooting."

Six high school students in Santa Clarita were detained on felony criminal threats charges Wednesday and taken to a juvenile detention center after authorities were alerted to threats the teenagers had made online.

A William S. Hart Union School District staff member discovered the social media posts “regarding committing acts of school violence” and alerted authorities, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives and deputies quickly investigated and determined which young people had made the posts, according to the agency.

The Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Thursday that there’s no current threat to students, staff or schools in Santa Clarita regarding the posts.

The students would've been only in school for a 4 weeks when they started making threats.

PS...School progress reports come out tomorrow, and the Sadie Hawkins Dance was scheduled for Saturday. Wonder if either or both of these events had to do with the timing?

I went to kindergarten thru grade 6 at what was a former military school. There were still some routines felt needed to be kept LOL. We would line up to enter and march to the music. You had to pivot and turn directly on the sidewalk crack. Student monitors watched and if u missed the crack on the turn they pulled you out and you faced the wall until last student entered. Three times in a month got you a sit down with the Principal.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva of Los Angeles County told NBC in Los Angeles that all of the victims were students and that the gunman was also a member of the student body.

A weapon has been recovered, said Sgt. Bob Boese, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, though he would not offer any details about the type.

He returned to his office where he was scheduled to meet with a parent of one of the Sandy Hook children who died, and the parent broke down in reaction to today's shooting, saying he was living his tragedy all over again.

I guess they postponed it again. If they wait long enough, there will probably be another shooting somewhere else.

It's great that we're free to spend days and days discussing possible causes, but can't discuss the cause that's as plain as day. LOL!

I'll start....we need to do more to help the mentally ill 15 year olds out there.

My high school had 2,000 I went from gr. 9-13. Nothing even remotely like this ever happened. The worst was somebody showing up at a Dance drunk and maybe a fist or 2 thrown. Speaking to my experience. I feel for these kids today.
