I saw the thread blown up and knew it wouldnt be good news. I am so sorry for her friends and family. Poor Adea. Rest in peace sweetheart.

And i honestly hope for her family and friends they will find her, so they can have at least some closure.

Here are some basics for those that aren't familiar with how the police operate.

The police can hold you for up to 24 hours before they have to charge you with a crime or release you. They can apply to hold you for up to 36 or 96 hoursif you're suspected of a serious crime, eg murder.

The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and the constitutions of the individual states guarantee the right to a speedy trial.

So in other words it would be idiotic to charge someone without having the evidence necessary to charge and successfully convict them because they only get that one shot.

Just because they weren't able to arrest him does not mean they were not watching him or collecting evidence to build their case. IMO it's inappropriate to show disdain towards a hard working police department.

In California police officers must have probable cause in order to make a lawful arrest. We don't know yet what they had in this case but from the clues that have been revealed it sounds like they really needed the tipster to call back in order to verify what they saw and possibly locate Adea.

Generally the police will consult with the prosecuting attorneys [especially in cases of homicide with only circumstantial evidence] before charging a suspect. If they use a charge, drop, recharge routine as a delaying tactic their careers will be deservedly short lived.

The search is intensifying for a missing 25-year-old aspiring model and actress who just moved to Hollywood from Macedonia.

Flyers line the 1700 hundred block of Wilcox Ave. in Hollywood, where Adea Shabani was last seen near her home a month ago.

Friends say Shabani got to town from Macedonia two months before her disappearance. She was an aspiring model and actress who took classes near her apartment.

“She was delightful. I would see her in the elevator, in the laundry room. She gave me good laundry tips and she was just a delightful spunky gal,” she said.

The caller had allegedly seen Shabani placed in the bed of a truck by Spotz. She appeared to be “drugged and in danger,” the caller claimed.

So the anon person called adeas friends instead of LE? If I saw ANYONE put into the BED of a truck, I would like to hope id call the cops immediately. I’m still catching up on the thread so I hope I’m misunderstanding something.

Now we can see why LE couldn't get an immediate warrant for his arrest even though there were allegedly witnesses to his taking her.

If a neighbor had come forward and said they saw it happen, I think they would have ben able to arrest him, JMO.

But an anonymous call is just hearsay.

Santa Clarita is hardly a dodgy place. For years it and Simi Valley had the lowest crime rates around.

I love Simi Valley. It is a beautiful place. My son and his wife lived there when they first married. I visited a lot and grew to love the small town feel and beautiful mountain vistas. Very lovely and safe area.

It does have a recent gang problem, but everywhere in California has similar issues, sadly enough.

The anonymous caller was probably scared for thier own safety with the gun toting Spotz on the loose . No need to judge them imo .

The cops were probably surveillance him but they didn't know he'd kill himself !

He may have been selfish , the way he treated those girlfriends hmm ?

I may be late to the page but I did notice all the posts on fb about him disappeared even his profile. That’s just really sad. He hurt an innocent person and took his own life before her family could find closure. Even if it was an accident it isn’t fair that a girl is missing because of him. No one should protect him. It should really be about finding Adea now.

My theory is she found out about the fiancé and threatened to tell the fiancé about them or she already knew about the fiancé and he promised her it was over and she found out it wasn’t and she said she was going to tell and he wanted her to be quiet. I can only hope his fiancé didn’t know about her or her disappearance.

Hi I've come in late. But just wanted to add how brave and scary it must have been for her fellow acting class friends over that month. And Amasri I'm so sorry and you are also brave and passed along important information while desperately trying to help your friend while being from afar.

It's around 380 miles between Hollywood and Sacramento, so in terms of looking for her body, I sure hope LE has other things to go on, such as cell phone records, surveillance video, forensic evidence, and eyewitness reports.

Given that it's on the way to Sacramento and relatively close to Los Angeles, I wonder whether the early mentions of Santa Clarita in this case mean LE has reason to believe her killing happened around there. But even if that turns out to be so, it leaves a huge area to search, so again, I hope there's other good evidence to narrow things down. JMO

Authorities in California say a man fatally shot himself in the head as police attempted to question him regarding a woman’s disappearance.

As Fox News reports, 33-year-old Chris Spotz had been identified as a romantic partner of 25-year-old aspiring actress Adea Shabani, who was last seen at her apartment in Hollywood last month.

The two reportedly met in acting school and had been linked since.

Police were informed that the stolen truck Spotz was driving Thursday had been used in a homicide, though there were no additional details available regarding that report, according to KNBC.
