Details of Disappearance
Adriana was last seen in Rowland Heights, California just before noon on May 7, 1996. She called her mother at work and said she was going to rest at their apartment on Greencastle Avenue before attending her evening class.

Adriana's older brother later heard the front door slam and discovered his sister was missing and she had left a half-eaten sandwich and her purse, money, backpack and pager. She has never been heard from again.

Adriana was a senior at Rowland High School when she disappeared. She ran away previously and took many personal belongings, including the drapes, but when she went missing in May 1996 she took nothing with her.

Adriana's mother stated her daughter had been acting oddly prior to her disappearance and did not order a cap and gown for her upcoming graduation. She believes Adriana ran away from home when she disappeared in May 1996.

The circumstances surrounding Adriana's disappearance remain unclear.

Just curious; does anyone know if her brothers were completely ruled out as suspects? I think their names are Mauricio, Andres, Jayden or Humbert Jr. I would assume that they all graduated from Rowland High School.

Since she was almost 18 I wonder if it would be possible that she could have been committed to an institution for mental health issues. I only say this because her last couple days the mother stated that she was acting very strange almost childlike and she took nothing with her. If she was an adult at the time, she may not have been required to reveal the situation to her family due to confidentiality.

Adriana alive?

I wanted to know if you could please take a look at the link below for a youTube video which I believe shows Adriana Rojas after she was involved in an accident where pedestrian was killed in Rowland Heights (year possibly 2012 Loud Labs video). It's probably a long shot, but I do believe there are strong enough similarities that warrant someone actually looking into it.

It should also be noted that her mother stated that Adriana dyes her hair blonde. The female on this video also appears to dye her hair blonde. Another reason why I think this may be her, is due to the fact that the accident happened close to her former residence when she went missing.

After reading the information the family provided I thought maybe she had mental health issues undiagnosed or something really bad happened to her while living there because she stated her mother she hated living there and wasn't getting along with her brother's just before she disappeared.

I'm hoping that she has already been located and that her family has much-needed peace.

@Joshua1:9 I'm afraid to watch the video in case it's graphic. What are the details? Where (how close to her residence?), what date, and what happened?

I wonder what explanation she gave to her mother for why she was acting different and why she was unhappy.

I hope she's okay out there. She is in NamUs so probably still missing. :(

2006 article with a little more info
Grant boosts DNA hunt for missing people – Pasadena Star News

Umberto and Luz Elena Rojas of Rowland Heights recently gave DNA samples for the program. Their daughter, Adriana Lisette Rojas, has been missing for 10 years.

Luz Rojas thinks her daughter is still alive but admits to sometimes thinking otherwise.

On May 7, 1996, 17-year-old Adriana Rojas called her mother at work and said she was going to rest at home before heading to night class. Her older brother later heard the front door slam. Rojas left behind a half-eaten sandwich and her purse, money, backpack and pager.

When she ran away from home before she took a lot of items including drapes. But this time, she left with nothing. There’s been no word from her since.

Detectives have questioned a paroled sex offender who lived nearby but haven’t arrested or charged anyone.

Luz Rojas has mulled over what her daughter did in the last few months and weeks before she disappeared. She said her daughter was acting different and thinks the teen was planning to leave.

She said Adriana was close to her siblings but in the last few months wouldn’t talk to her older brother and was fighting with her little brother.

The teen also didn’t bring home papers for a graduation cap and gown, which led her mother to suspect she didn’t want to graduate. And the usually mature-acting teen asked her mother to make her a big fruit salad and feed it to her like she was a little girl.

“She was acting funny. She was saying goodbye to me. I know,” Luz Rojas said.

Moving Adriana's case up to the top.

What a sad case. She is from my generation, and it's troubling that someone would have gone through that at 17-years-old. Those were tough years in general, but in my opinion it sounds like she had experienced trauma and she was battling something like depression. It does not sit right that she wasn't speaking to one brother and saying she "hated" living there (per Doe Network). Not all details are the public's business, but I hope the law enforcement (LE) team on her case has been told everything. I wonder if she had friends she confided in or gave clues to about what she was going through and her intention.

I hope that she has found peace and happiness and if alive out there will find a way to contact her mother and also law enforcement so they know she is okay.
