I love when fellow posters throw out new questions.
Because information is vague and of the very few interviews done with family members I have felt the interviewers questions weren't targeted enough ,by that I mean the details that matter .

Although I understand certain details cannot be released for valid reasons and no one wants to risk leaked details derailing an investigation but simple things like you have stated here and other stuff like , what do you think was in the backpack or do you know ? Were the kids aware they were not going to school ?. Did lilly say anything during the couple of times she popped her head into the bedroom ? Did jack and lilly ever go into the yard without you and Maleyha if they heard janie with the chickens for example?

When was the last time janie spoke or seen the children ? Did she know they were sick ? Did janie know the family was struggling to get basic needs ?

What was lilly and jacks favourite thing to do when in the forest ,where they attracted to the water ? Could they swim ? Is this why janie was building a pool ? How independent were they in regards, getting something to eat or drink . Did they Normally put on their own coat and boots ? Is this the first time they ever closed the porch door ? We know they are might talk to strangers easily but what about kids ,would they approach a child to be their friend or wait to be approached ? Did they know what was dangerous and what was not in the forest such as what berries or plants might be poisonous or could they build a Fort like the one in the yard ? Who built it ? And did they help ? Where the kids ever brought on a walk to the pipeline trail ?

And the list goes on .. if anyone like to add to that list feel free . It's not an exercise in targeting parents or grandparents. It's just who were lilly and jack as people what were their hobbies and intricacies

I'm not convinced that speculating on the answers is helpful for finding the children. In fact, it can be harmful. Imagine if we decide the parents didn't measure up to our standard. I believe that parent blaming can create a prejudice that leads the community away from supporting the work to recover the kids.

You are right prejudice can deter people in communities from coming forward with information that could be helpful. Sightings , items found etc will not be considered useful if people think this is a criminal investigation surrounding parental involvement because they will feel coming forward with a precieved tip is not relevant to the investigation, that's why often in other cases people have held off for years with information that hold the key to solving a case .

5 months in and a lot of the chat does be about the investigation or MBM ,JM and DM or debates on what we feel happened , why not a little speculation on who the little children where or are . If they are deceased , I would like to think my thoughts are not solely on their demise but some thoughts are on the joy they may have expierenced through likes and dislikes , what their life looked like as care free children

Although sluethers have and do help in posing key questions and finding information for cases . And gossip can posion it ,I don't feel chatting about the two kids in a kind and inquisitive positive manner will hinder the case .

I can't speak for anyone else but for me, whenever I follow a case that involves kids, I'm already thinking of them in the same line of "what if these were my kids".

I didn’t see parent blaming in the comment you are quoting. The forums here at WS abound with speculation. As an example, if you look through the Jonbenet Ramsey forum, there are years of threads on the topic of BDI (Burke Did It) which in fairness, no one knows.
Respectfully, what we do as websleuths is examine a case from all angles. At least, that’s what I try to do. That’s why I go from believing it’s foul play, then unfortunate misadventure of walking in woods, then perhaps hit by car.
We ask, what if this happened? What if that happened? We apply critical thinking to what is known or believed to be true.
If we are reduced to examining from one angle only, we’ll be regurgitating MSM and the comments will be few. We can be respectful, and avoid accusations or insults to victims and families.
It is hard to ignore red flags, for example, involvement of CPS, or admitted drug use.

Well, this is just how I see it.

Great questions, and it would be great for this type of backstory to be fleshed out on Lilly & Jack and what is typical for them by LE...

Perhaps or even likely, IMO, LE knows quite a few of these kinds of details that are woven into their ongoing investigation, from interviewing their immediate family members living on the property, their neighbors, bus driver, schoolmates and teachers and CPS, who did a home visit previously.

Which is documented in the 2 memos from CPS submitted to the next level up in the governmental hierarchy or chain, 1 on the day they disappeared, and 1 about 2 weeks later.

Regarding the question on whether they had ever been on the pipeline trail or knew it or of it nearby their home for the last 2 years:

IMO, it's possible or even probable that trail was known to Lilly and/or Jack, but there isn't much to back that up from what LE has divulged other than, IIRC, they searched along it a ways, even though the search dogs didn't pick up either of their scents past the end of their driveway.

And also, again IIRC, DM told MSM interviewers he had searched along there and everywhere around in culverts, etc., while calling their names/yelling for them in an off track vehicle before LE arrived.

And DM also said there was a piece of a pink blanket that looked like Lilly's somewhere between the property and beyond it leading in the direction of the pipeline trail, IIRC, he had found during his search before LE got there, that he & MBM showed LE after they arrived.

Which was implied at the time was the only "sign" or potential evidence they (DM & MBM) had found indicating the 2 kids might have left on foot and may have wandered off into the woods.

It was recorded in an LE communication/radio call by one of the first responding LEOs there which was on MSM.

The recording I listened to on MSM by the LEO stated that their parents after DM's search "led the LEO there", to the piece of blanket her parents thought belonged to her.

It's linked upthread in the first few days to a week or so after their disappearance, but don't know if it's still a working link at this time, so IMO.

A piece of the same pink blanket her parents said they believed was Lilly's.

From the same pink blanket her parents said she had outgrown and/or was no longer in use by her and/or had become threadbare.

The same pink blanket which, IIRC (links in MSM early on upthread) both of their parents said DM had used to block a draft by stuffing it into the sliding door or other spot in their trailer home previous but somewhat recently to them disappearing.

The same pink blanket of which remaining in tact and more whole, with pieces missing, was found later in a trash bin located on the property along their driveway, IIRC.

Back to the pipeline trail:

It was also stated in MSM, that after their parents that first day of their disappearance when LE was shown the piece of pink blanket and were searching for them in the hours thereafter told their parents they were searching for them along the pipeline trail:

MBM, their mother, supposedly reacted to that knowledge with a lot of emotion.

AIA (apoligies in advance) I don't have access to the MSM links on this right now, so just going by memory and MOO in case the links upthread no longer "work" or exist.

All just my memory of things as reported by LE and/or in MSM regarding the pink blanket and pipeline trail.
