Mom called RCMP.
Statement from Mom:
CTV News Video

"What happened was that we woke up I heard them playing in the next room beside us and I was drifting in and out of sleep, and they're not the type of kids that we tell them not to go outside on their own. We always make sure that we're out there with them, watching them, then they happened to just get out that sliding door and we can't hear it when it opens and they were outside playing, but we weren't aware of it at the time and the next thing we knew the [lurt-unknown] like it was quiet and we get up and I tell him, my partner, Daniel, I tell him "do you hear the kids" and he says "no" and we get up instantly, we're looking outside, we're looking everywhere, yelling for them and I instantly just called 911, as j-unknown I had the instinct I need to call."

Distance from home to nearest RCMP office is 46 minutes by road.

BBM. In light of DM's statement that the sliding door was closed when they got up, I just can't reconcile that "then they happened to just get out that sliding door and we can't hear it when it opens" and "they were outside playing, but we weren't aware of it at the time." Those two statements by the mom just don't make sense because she can't know these things. I assume they were said when she was so distraught that she didn't have an accurate timeline in her head; MOO I think this happens a lot when you wake up thinking it's an ordinary day and something horrible happens. Like, my bf went for a walk this morning and if something happened to him, I couldn't tell you what color T-shirt he was wearing or the exact time he left. I hope she has privately given a further statement to RCMP.

It is possible that she might be so broken up by the loss and likely death of two of her children that she has been counselled not to speak.
entirely possible. What I find odd is the disparate behaviors between mom and stepdad.

My point is, if LE has cautioned the mother not to speak it would follow (IMO) that they might say something similar to Daniel. But they either haven't done so, or he is disregarding that advise and continuing to speak with press.

What would make her family believe that the boyfriend could be responsible for their disappearance?

That's a big accusation and doesn't come from nowhere.
For the mother’s family to think he is involved and not her they would have to essentially be discrediting her whole initial interview. That’s not to say it isn’t possible that she would seemingly vouch for him (using “we”) in front of the camera for reasons other than her involvement.

It's possible LE didn't caution the step father on purpose...

Okay but, earnestly, I *cannot* imagine leaving the place my children last were so soon after they have been lost. I really can’t. Can you? I’m sincerely asking. In that same place, would you leave that place because of loud

MBM could have let her mother take the baby with her, back home.MBM could have then remained on the scene. That’s what I would have done anyway…

Awesome find. So it does appear that last Tuesday was their last day at school or at least their last day on the school bus. My heart goes out to Lily and Jack’s friends and other students riding their bus.

The bus driver also gives some insight into Lily and Jack’s personality in the article.

“Every day this week, the children aboard the big yellow school bus peered out the window as they passed the white trailer on the side of Gairloch Road. “Have they found Jack and Lilly yet?” they asked bus driver Bryan Ward every afternoon. “Not yet,” Mr. Ward says he told the children. “The police are doing everything they can.”

Lilly and Jack’s seat – in the front, to the right – has sat empty, with their names still taped above it, since April 29, when Mr. Ward last dropped them off at the end of their dirt driveway after school.”
Apparently Wednesday was an in-service day.No school

How did she know they went out the sliding door ?It was apparently closed when the parents got up.

<modsnip - quoted post was scanner traffic - scanner traffic isn't allowed on the main thread, only in the basement>
Another reason I was curious about the timeline is were the children fully aware they weren’t supposed to be going to school that day if neither parent had spoken to Lily that morning, considering she was already dressed and left with her backpack. In my life sick children just stayed in their pyjamas. Although we don’t know what time the school bus passes by their house, might they have walked down the driveway to wait on the road for it?

Big IF they were taken by someone known to them, what a better opportunity than to drive down the road ahead of the school bus, stop and offer them a ride to school. My speculation only….

Earlier MSM articles have stated that DM did speak to her when she came into the bedroom where him, mom and baby sibling were. From what's been reported all we know is that she was told to be quiet for the baby's sake. We don't know if there was any other conversation.

Of course without being in the situation I don't know for sure but I can more so imagine leaving the area that I would realistically be no use in during such a traumatic event like this than hand over my one baby who isn't missing to someone, even my own mother, to stay in the chaotic, stressful environment without them.

Oh yes, that’s right, she was told to quieten down for the baby’s sake. But just based on my own experience, if a 6 year old child had a cough and wasn’t supposed to attend school that day, I’d have a question about why she was up and fully dressed? How did they know she had a cough and shouldn’t go to school, was it just be hearing her?

The more I think about it, that piece of the story is a huge missing gap.

I agree. Even if the children had been found, they’d be transported to a hospital and not brought back to the house. So staying there in the middle of chaos would give her no benefit had they been found during the search.
