Just caught up on the thread after avoiding Websleuths for the weekend.

It’s so sad that these young children still have not been found - to us it seems like no progress has really been made but I do wonder if the police are just biding their time.

Possibly abit like the Samantha Murphy case - in this case the police tracked their POI for about two weeks prior to his arrest.. they waited in the hope that he would lead them to her body.

Hoping for answers soon.

It's just plain odd -- nothing makes sense (IMO). Yet.
Depends on the kid. I grew up playing in the PNW woods and at five I was able to easily navigate this kind of terrain. I was inquisitive and loved to explore. Still do. Trees down across a trail: welcome to springtime in the mountains. Once the snow melts out and the weather stabilizes, the trail crews can get in and cut the logs and cut back the vegetation, or, for some of the more remote trails, the logs are left and they’re just a feature of that trail. I do quite a bit of backcountry hiking in the North Cascades and this is what’s there, plus steep rocky/rooty hillsides.

That said, climbing around in wellies and/or just a pullup would be harder.
Add to that, a young sibling...
I just hope for a good outcome...

I believe we’ll see an arrest(s) very shortly after this second search is wrapped up.

The ground search has ended for now. I don’t think many of us are surprised.

Snipped BB

“The ground search for two missing Pictou County siblings ended Sunday, according to an RCMP news release.”

“The news release said more than 115 volunteer searchers took part on Sunday. They focused on specific areas around Gairloch Road.”

Snipped bbm
“Investigators and search managers were reviewing and assessing the weekend's search to determine their next steps, according to the media release.”

Well the dad said that Friday morning he heard them in the kitchen and then a few minutes later they were gone.

So I believe his theory is that the children left the house and walked straight to the end of the driveway where there just happened to be someone driving by looking to abduct children.

I thought their mother said they had been playing outside the house after silently going out of the door.

Right so they had about 1.5 minutes of playtime unless the abductor was already in the driveway. But then that wouldn’t work with the boot print Martell talked about at the end of the driveway.

MO
The only boot print verified by RCMP was a possible partial boot impression found, which may have belonged to a child. I have posted a link to this information a few times in past post. It was discussed in the RCMP press conference.
See around 23:31

this is why I'm curious to know if it's been verified that there was no-one else in the home (besides mum and step dad and 2 kids) prior to the first initial call to 911.

**sorry 3 kids

Martell - “It’s just pure exhaustion at this point,” said Martell. “Sadness just turns to anger at this point because there are no answers. I mean I don’t know if we are going to ever get answers. I mean I hope everyday but the hope just turns into anger because there is nothing.”
