A man’s body was found Saturday morning in San Francisco Bay off the Alameda shoreline, Alameda police officials said.

Police received a call at 8:44 a.m. that a deceased body was found floating in the lagoon area, north of 339 Broadway, police said in a statement.

The man’s identity is still being determined and it will not be released until his family is notified, said a Alameda County spokeswoman.

The cause of death also will not be known until an autopsy can be performed Monday or Tuesday, she said

A man found dead in a lagoon in Alameda less than two weeks ago has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's office as 24-year-old Luis Perez-Diaz.
