I think calling it a cult might be an understatement. It seems to be more of a weird new age sort of general thing, like believing in crystals or something.

There isn't much public information, but when I search for Scott Helton on my Android app, this one comes up with "Cedars-Sinai Medical Center" listed as the place of work, even though you can't see that anymore when you click on it. I don't think that's Alison in his profile photo.

They have posted pics on SM of the last sighting. I really hope she isnt held up in some facility. On the website it mentioned something to that manner. I just don't understand how someone can just abandon everything so suddenly unless forced.

As I understand cults, it is a subtle, over a period of time grooming. Much like a paedophile, but with different goals. (I hope.) Could be equalling damaging. And cults usually want money, obedience/adherence.

Before she disappeared, Alison told her mother about her efforts to help 2 homeless men. She went out of her way to feed one and get new clothes for the other. She told her mother she felt they were angels are earth.

Scott quit his job working at Ceders sinai before he disappeared with Alison and it seems she has abandoned her studies and thus a path toward a career in epidemiology.
I think they could possibly have fallen for this philosophy and are traveling like vagabonds on some kind of mission to better the world. However, they are deeply mistaken if they thought leaving without a word could possibly make the world a better place.

The scary guy in the first pic is James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy, a friend of Alison's.

Hello all,

I am am new to this forum. I saw some of the posts asking about Scott Helton, and I wanted to share some information, but I want to be careful about how much I say. I know some of his family members.

Obviously, I am not close to the search, and I may not have the most recent info.

There does not seem to be any doubt that Scott Helton has disappeared voluntarily. Although Alison's family is reportedly concerned, they also think it is possible she went of her own will. Because of this and the fact that there is no evidence of a crime, the police are not making them a priority. They are simply two missing adults with no laws broken at this time.

Yes, Scott really worked where it is reported in quite a high level job, but he quit some time recently. Neither his ex-wife or current wife were aware of Alison. Alison's family was apparently unaware he was married, they didn't even know the correct number of children he has.

There is is some information indicating Scott has some very odd ideas/beliefs at this time, and that he has had for some time now. Whether that is tied into the "5d earth" movement, whatever that is, I have no idea but there do seem to be similarities. The biggest concern at this time is that his children are safe from him possibly deciding they should be with him.

I sincerely hope these two are located, this is very stressful for everyone associated. But at this time there is absolutely no reason to believe this is anything more than two people behaving very oddly and making some bad choices. Crossing fingers they come to light soon.
