Obviously, I'm being facetious here, but it's worth thinking about. Certainly judges, lawyers, parole board members, and especially "expert witnesses" and other psychologists who take blood money to let violent felons go need to be held accountable -- criminally and civilly liable -- for the subsequent crimes committed.

Often when I watch true crime stories about stalkers and their prey, I find myself screaming at the T.V- I often blame the system for the death or injury of the stalker's prey- and mostly blame the police and the judges as well. Law enforcement continues not to take these situations seriously enough; it is common for example for the perp to get picked up by the police, only to be released from jail within 48 hours! Of course, there is my favorite- the frightened person goes to the police to file a complaint at which time the frightened person is told we can't do anything until the stalker actually hurts you!

I just saw the story of Ann Harwick on 48 hours, then went to Google to look for a trial date or to see if this case has gone to trial: apparently not-- what is taking so long?

The trial for the man accused of killing Hollywood sex therapist Dr. Amie Harwick begins this week. Gareth Pursehouse faces several criminal charges for the 2020 slaying including murder and burglary.

Opening statements could begin as early as Tuesday afternoon.

Prosecution opening statement: #GarethPursehouse was lying in wait inside #AmieHarwick's home. He attacked her, her roommate began yelling, Pursehouse panicked and threw Harwick off her 3rd story balcony.


Email #AmieHarwick wrote to herself about running into #GarethPursehouse at an awards show. Jan 17, 2020 (date of death was Feb. 15, 2020) "I was scared and felt like I needed to neutralize the situation. I didn't think he was going to attack me in that moment but this clearly show..how obsessed he was.."

Due to domestic violence, I recently lost a wonderful friend, Dr. Amie Harwick. She was murdered as a result of poorly written laws that do not protect the victims and properly punish the offenders. I refuse to let her death be in vain. She was a Doctor in the Mental Health Field and advocate in the community. We need to do the same and advocate for Amie. So I am launching JUSTICE 4 AMIE!

Amie's roommate was in his bedroom downstairs. He woke up to #AmieHarwick screaming and sounded like she was being thrown on the ground. He yelled out, "Hey, mother f-er, leave her alone!" He didn't know what was happening. He ran to get help.

Pros. opening: #AmieHarwick sustained injuries consistent with manual strangulation. Also had assault-type injuries. In the hallway, officers saw a pool of urine. #GarethPursehouse DNA was found under Harwick's fingernails.
