I seriously think there was a serial killer in that area. There was also girl that went missing in Brea, late 70s/early 80s, but I can't find her on websleuths. I read about her on OC Register awhile back.

I couldn't find exactly where her body was placed in Riverside. "The Zodiac Killer mailed a letter from Anaheim in 1978!!!" My POI went to college in Pasadena grew up as a teenager in Monrovia. He has was also a member of the Process Church and the Manson Family. I think he was the driving force behind the Manson murders. This woman was theorised being the victim of an unnamed serial killer with some similarities to Tracey's case:
"Because of the tools used and the precision of the mutilation of her limbs, Jane Doe 53's case is similar to the deaths of six other Southern California women, although police haven't been able to make any definite connection."

The last one I know of found in this general area is Rebecca Callahan, she disappeared from Garden Grove her body was found dismembered around Lake Matthews in Corona, CA just up the road from the other ones. There is also Nikki Ann Trollinger and Diane Gruel the went missing about a month apart from Whitter and Garden Grove. Averted Justice
