Zeero,
Is the farmer you referenced on the coast?
If so I wonder if he has property not in the Arcata Bottoms, but up in the foothills with redwood trees.
Or are you referencing a farm on the Hoopa Reservation or nearer Willow Creek?

Redwoods, near Arcata. Sorry for the huge lapse in response. You get to his farm by going down west 299. He has redwoods on his property. I know who my grandma claims killed her, and know his farm. I don't want to publicly say his name because it could just be old gossip. There was also a mandible found in a lake nearby and could have been from runoff of his farm. I think the person who killed her was local, as police reports said the car that picked her up had special tires needed to traverse the mountains. She wasn't going to court for anything criminal, just something routine. Each time anyone needed to do anything official they had to travel way out from the reservation. Unfortunately there are alot of missing people in humboldt County. Chic gets a very small fraction of what the "humboldt" five get.

Heartbreaking article. That information her son provided is quite a bombshell, actually! LE isn’t likely to want to investigate one of their own.
Can you explain for folks who don't have access to that site?

Thanks for asking. Her son Arnold Davis III was two when Andrea disappeared…quoting from the link:

Davis believes the police could be responsible for his mother's disappearance, but he has no evidence. Not long before White disappeared, she told her aunt, Donna White, that she’d been raped by local police officers. “She said she had been drinking and they picked her up for intoxication,” says Donna. “But they stopped, and they raped her. They still put her in jail, too.”

Donna took her niece to a rape crisis center in Eureka and then to the district attorney’s office. But it proved too much for Andrea: “The district attorney was talking to her and then she just shut down and didn't want to talk about anything.”

Police have no leads on the disappearance, now relegated to the cold case file. Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal says foul play is highly suspected.

I wonder if the rape was the case she was traveling to the court house for?

Apparently not about the rape case. Quoting the article linked by @EastHumboldt…

For 30 long years, Ana White has been searching for her sister, Andrea “Chick” White. The then 22-year-old Native mother of four including an eight-month-old baby had traveled to Eureka, California, in July 1991 for a court date, after an auto accident. She was spotted hitchhiking home along a freeway near Blue Lake, in northern California. She has been missing ever since.

''White was 22 years old at the time of her disappearance. She is a Native American female, 5 feet tall, weighs about 110-115 pounds with brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was possibly wearing Levis pants, a sleeveless white shirt and a black leather jacket, and carrying a black duffel bag with white trim.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted several searches along State Route 299 from Blue Lake to Willow Creek. ATVs, ground searchers and a helicopter were utilized. White left behind several small children at the time of her disappearance.''

Details of Disappearance

White was last seen in Blue Lake, California at 1:30 p.m. on July 31, 1991. She was living in Hoopa, California and had gone to Eureka, California for a court date. She had no purse with her and may have had no identification at all.

Authorities were able to locate a witness who gave White a ride from Guintoli Lane in Arcata, California to just east of the Blue Lake exit on State Route 299. She planned to hitchhike the rest of the way home and may have gotten a ride in a green and white four-door Chevrolet Impala with snow/mud tires. She has never been heard from again.

White left behind four children, the youngest of whom was only a year old in 1991. Few details are available in her case, but foul play is suspected.

In the heart of Northern California’s Humboldt County, the story of Andrea Jerri “Chic” White remains a cautionary tale—about the dangers of hitchhiking alone, the vulnerabilities faced by young Indigenous women, and the haunting consequences of a single moment that altered the course of a life.

*****
The pain of Chic’s disappearance has reverberated through the generations. “There’s four kids that have been left without a mother,” Anna said. “There’s family members… that want to know who Chic is today, and that’s not possible right now.”

Sadly, Chic’s story is not unique.

*****
In Humboldt County, the crisis continues. In 2024 alone, 244 children and 238 adults were reported missing, according to KRCR. The region, with its remote terrain and under-resourced law enforcement, remains one of California’s epicenters for missing persons cases.

Despite the years and unanswered questions, Anna White refuses to let her sister’s story fade. Through social media, interviews, and tireless advocacy, she keeps Chic’s name in the public eye.

Decades may have passed, but for her family—and for many others in the Indigenous community—there’s still hope that justice will come, and that Chic’s voice, silenced in life, will be heard in remembrance.
