Speculation is that it came from her deceased Aunt!

The story WOULD make for a great forum!

I missed the news conference; here's a link to a short article. There's a color pic of the finger and chunk of flesh. There's also video footage, but I'm unable to view it since I'm on dial-up and can't watch anything that moves faster than a grazing cow.

APPROX. 2.5 MILLION IN LOST BUSINESS (WENDYS) ACCORDING TO D.A.

Suspect allegedly described to 2 people how she put
the finger in the chili.

Larceny was from some real estate deal in San Jose.
She tried to sell a mobile home she didn't own (maybe the dead Aunt's???)!

Sister said says Ayala's daughter can't attend school because of taunts...
Police put gun to nieces head during home search...

Still nothing about where finger came from....
This was a CSI case...they did an ingredient trace-back and concluded
that it didn't come from supplier of chili.

Family friend housemate says they got her alone at house when
she was watching Meet the Fokkers. Says Wendy's is out to get her...

LOL! Can't wait to find out where the finger came from! I'll try to come up with some links. LE sure is being hush-hush.

Hmmph.

The finger was not cooked - it was RAW.

Coroner was involved - said thumb was from dead person.

Components of chili are mixed at the store.

The above was reported by the meat supplier for Wendy's (he called KFI).

The 2 persons that reported that Ayala told them about how she put the
finger in the chili did not know each other.

Source says investigators do not know where the finger came from.

Speculating that this evidence is being withheld so as not to compromise the
ongoing investigation/case.

Aren't they though! I thought of calling the S.J. Police ,but I think they'd bite my head off. This is sooooo frustrating. One of the newspapers said the lady Ms. Small (or something close) had a digit bitten off by one of her exotic animals & says the finger disappeared from the hospital & that this finger looks like hers???? I can't find the link right now but I'll try!!

Was anyone able to check out the video yet?

  • #291
I know there's still a fat reward involved. I think that says there's no DNA evidence yet.

  • #292
I doubt the embalming process alters DNA much, if at all. Bodies are exhumed all the time for evidence. That poor Aunt!

So how did Ayala get her hands on the finger?

Dumpster diving - perhaps??

LOL - icky, though.

DOn't people ever get it?   NEVER EVER talk to others about WHAT you do with spare body parts. Geesh. I learned that lesson years ago.

Yes -- she was arrested on a separate larceny charge w/warrant.

I don't think LE has anything on the finger yet. It was sent to a fingerprint database yesterday.

  • #296
I bet LE is cutting a deal with her on the larceny charge and offering a reduction on the "finger" charge (if there is one) as we speak.

Any local hospital would have verified a recent loss of a finger.

There's a $100,000 reward.

Things that make you go HMMMMM.....

  • #297
So far I don't think it was the Aunt. Unless LE isn't disclosing. Otherwise, why send it through a fingerprint database?

So it had to come frome SOMEONE who was deceased -- recently (besides the Aunt).

She got it somewhere. And it wasn't from someone who is still alive.

Wonder where the rest of the body is??? :waitasec:

Teach it to me please! Is that the same as spare change that the homeless ask me for?? NOTHING IS SPARE from now on? :waitasec: :silenced:

The charge for the finger is attempted grand larceny.
