I agree with you, I believe he may have considered leaving his child wherever it may have been in the middle of the night versus going to a place in broad daylight where there will be more people around. Also, I believe he told LE that he was at Lake Cachuma, so why tell them he was there and not mention the other places if he had left the boy at Lake Cachuma. It would be more obvious. And why drive around in the middle of the night instead of resting if he was still with the boy at the lake?

Good question. Why did he tell them he was at Cachuma and not tell them he was in Solvang or Nojoqui. If he was at Nojoqui in the early morning hours why would he go there? It's way out in the middle of nowhere and not right off the highway so why would he go there? There's a rest stop just a few miles prior to this if he had to use the restroom and Buellton just a couple of minutes up the road.

here is where the cameras were discussed:

Investigators say surveillance video shows Andressian Sr. at the lake, but they found no evidence of the little boy having been there during their search on Tuesday. They're asking anyone who may have visited Cachuma Lake and seen the boy or his father to contact them.

"If anyone was here, maybe between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., those are the hours that we believe he was here," said Lt. Mendoza.

Also, it says he was there by 8 am....

I think that indicates that AA came up the 154 cutoff from the 101. I don't think he would have gone to Solvang and the falls before 8 am.

I think he took the cutoff the 154 while he was North on 101 in Santa Barbara. Then he arrived at the Lake, spent half the day, then went to Solvang from there.

I think that it is possible he left the boy somewhere off the 154---like up Painted Cave road or back roads by Wagon Train Rd cut off. JMO

See for some reason I'm thinking he went up the 101 to Nojoqui first since it's a turnoff off the 101. I wish we knew. Wagon train Rd? You mean Stagecoach Rd?

I think the Rangers come on duty at the gate at 8am. So he could have been there prior to that. I can check that. If I recall they are there from like 8am-10pm or something like that.

LOL...yes, stagecoach rd...[my kids say I am close to early onset...]

I don't think he went up 101 to Nojoqui first, but I could be wrong.

It's just that I lived in Thousand Oaks/Westlake area for 17 years. We went camping at Cachuma several times and went to Solvang many times because my parents LOVED to go there when they came to visit us.

We NEVER went past the 154 exit and continued on the 101 to get there. It is way longer to go that way when you are coming from down here. Using the 154 cuts about 25 miles off the trip. Especially now that Chumash redid the highway. it is much faster and better than continuing up the 101.

Even though it is not always staffed, I believe there is an automatic camera that films each car as they pay. At least there used to be one. Which is one main reason I allowed my teen daughter to camp there with her friends. I thought it had better security than some of the places she wanted to go camp.

The time frame detectives are still trying to account for is Friday April 21st between 2am and 8am. Basically after Aramazd Andressian, Senior left Disneyland with his son and when he appeared at the gates of Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara. If you have friends in that area, between Santa Barbara and Solvang, please share this with them.
To me, this reads that detectives are trying to account for 2:00 am - 8:00 am between Santa Barbara and Solvang, which is after they left Disneyland up to when AA Sr. appeared at the lake. They think he spent all day at the lake.

Bottom line, police say they do not believe little Ara was ever at Cachuma Lake or at Arroyo Seco Park.

So it is saying he appeared at Cachuma's gate entrance at 8 am. So he was driving from OC to the lake between 2 am and 8 am.

I believe he took the 101 north to the Chumash Highway 154 cutoff, which leads straight up to Lake Cachuma. It also goes through a lot of remote woodsy areas.

Except it wouldn't take 6 hours. More like about 3 hours. So he had about 3 hours of free time. If he went up the 101 to Nojoqui first about 2.5 hours free time considering about a half hour drive over to Cachuma.

So when was he at Nojoqui and Solvang?

They said he was at the entrance to the Lake at 8 am. I cant see him going to the Falls before then if he was on a fun adventure wit his 5 yr old.

I think he took the 154 because it is the way everyone from the LA area goes because it is so much shorter. If he took the 154 he could have pulled over and slept at the Vista or another pullout, before 8 am.

He probably went to Solvang and the Falls after he left the Lake. It was only 2 pm...

He may have pulled over to sleep. He would have needed it.

Or that's what he did at Cachuma and why his battery ran dead. AC and/or Radio on maybe? Just speculation. So where is Ara? Have we figured it out yet?

  • #474
I would say if we find out he was at Nojoqui prior to 8am that would be rather suspicious.

Could be a number of things, leaving the lights on at the top of the list, I have a BMW, you cannot leave the lights on, they shut off automatically after awhile. My car is a newer model than his.Could be a faulty alternator not charging the battery completely. Not sure about the trunk light, if the truck is ajar the light could burn. not sure how fast that would drain the battery.

What time did they push the car to jump start?

Here is the link to Gigi Graciette's page, <modsnip>
According to Gigi, LE confirmed several new witnesses, including a Park Ranger, saw AA sr at the lake, his car was stalled and they helped by giving him a push and a jump. He was alone, his son was not seen.

There's been some speculation about the mother and I just want to say LE has stated she is not a suspect, I suspect she has a clear alibi for her whereabouts, she works and people probably saw her at work.
The father, however, has been "misleading and inconsistent" from the beginning, according to LE.

No actual time of day given when Rangers gave AASr. a push.

So when was he at Nojoqui and Solvang?
LE has stated that they think he was at Lake Cachuma all day. He was seen at the Lake Cachuma Rec Area store (some time within 11:30 - 2:30 ???) purchasing items, and his car was jump started in the Lake Cachuma area, although we don't know what time. LE has stated that they think he was at Lake Cachuma all day.

One can only conclude that he was in the areas of Nojoqui Falls and Solvang some time between 2:00 am and 8:00 am. If you consider driving time either way, it sounds like you can shave off at least 1 hour from each end to account for travel time. Therefore, if my math is correct, they would actually need to figure out what he was doing between Nojoqui Falls and Solvang between 3:00 am and 7:00 am.

Certainly the park ranger or one of the other people had a time frame. Maybe it's a mystery. I would like to know what he purchased. That little boy is probably in a landfill somewhere here in OC after Disneyland. What would he be doing in Lake Cachuma alone? LE must be keeping more info under the vest.
