CA CA - Arianna Fitts, 2, San Francisco, 1 April 2016 *mother found dead*

Police tweeted that the toddler was missing and is considered at risk around 9:20 p.m. Saturday night.

The girl’s mother was found dead on Friday.

Details as to her possible whereabouts are sketchy. Police said she and her mother frequented the Santa Cruz and Los Angeles area.

San Francisco Police Department called an emergency press conference Saturday to alert the public to a missing 2-year-old girl in San Francisco.

Arianna Fitts was last seen in late February, but she wasn't reported missing until April 5 when her mother, Nicole Fitts, went missing. Nicole is the victim of a homicide whose body was found Friday.

Just saw this on NBC Bay Area news.

The SFPD officer said they only have a few leads in general. I'm extremely worried about this little girl! Reporter asked if it could be possible custody issue and police said there was no info on that. I do have to wonder why someone would take a 2 year old girl other than custody issues though, 2 year olds are not always easy (nor are they potty trained, generally). Fingers crossed for your safe return, Ariana!

Mom was found deceased in a park? Apparently a homicide.
I wonder if where she was found is the main crime scene or if she was killed somewhere else and dumped in the park? (I completely cringed writing that! ) Last known sighting of Mom and baby on the 1st, reported missing on the 5th. I wonder if LE has an idea of how long Mom has been in the park for. Withhow much time has elapsed, that precious little girl could be anywhere by now 😢😕

There are SO many unanswered questions and meanwhile this beautiful little 2 year old girl has been missing for possibly several weeks. My best thoughts go out to Nicole's family and I hope Arianna is found safe very soon. Will be following this case every day.

This case is shrouded in mystery. I wonder why the details about the mom's murder are being kept quiet. Hope that means a POI has been identified. Nikki doesn't appear to have a stable address, although there is mention of a pastor with whom she may be staying. The Bayview district of the city (where she was found in a park) has a very high crime rate, FWIW.

The odd and mysterious baby sitter situation/story. Mom's roommate hadn't seen the child in some time, February iirc. Who was caring for the child and who was mom trying to get her back from?

The Mom was found dead (murdered) in this case though...Casey Anthony is not. (unfortunately)
