Police Searching for Missing Santa Barbara Woman | Edhat

upload_2020-6-2_17-35-40.jpeg

This is not the exact car; it’s the same color, make, and model.
2008 White Mazda 3

The parents stated this is out-of-character for Zachman and she has never shown a pattern of running away or disappearing.

Comments are included at bottom of article.

The edhat article above says: Zachman’s parents notified police that their daughter was missing after she did not show up for work this evening.

But the others say she left work at 5pm. Wonder which it is...Going to or leaving.

The article was posted today, so does "this evening" mean today, June 2? Was she just reported missing today or was she reported missing on Friday/over the weekend?

SBPD searching for missing Cottage Hospital nurse - KEYT | KCOY

SABFAA:

SBPD confirms, a search is on for an "at risk, missing" woman -- a media release was issued Tuesday morning.
<snip>

Zachman worked at Huntington Hospital before moving to Cottage Hospital in March.

I wonder what has led LE to classify her as an "at risk" missing person.

Also, noting the recent job change.

Changes jobs can be a stressor in and of itself, and given the current covid situation, a lot of health care professionals are under additional strain.

JMO.

Just saw this on our local news & info page. Is Ashley a traveling nurse?

If you search Ashley's name on facebook a post by JWK shows up, go to profile. On the KEYT post, read her comment. Worst thing you can see posted in a MP case, hope it shows a person on camera and it's HER!

At Risk stood out to me too. Also the fact that she looks completely different in each picture!

At risk normally means missing diminished mental capacity, physical disability, senility, under the age or 10 or over the age of 65 or presumed injured or killed after a natural catastrophe. Although these conditions aren't spelled out in the Missing Person Identification Act (50 ILCS 722/5) LE often lists someone as high risk if they are missing medication for a serious medical condition (i.e. diabetic) or are at risk of self-harm. I've also seen it used with a suspected abduction.

Oh no :( How concerning.

So her phone found at home. I wonder if it is normal for her to leave her phone at home when she goes to work? Most people would not, unless it was an accident and she forgot it that day. I wonder if it was charged or charging?

Edit: I now read the Keyt article that says she DID make it home from work between 5-5:30. So presumably she took her phone to work but then actually went missing from home, not from work.

So now that we know she is not missing from work/the work parking lot but did in fact make it home, I wonder if anything unusual is missing, like clothes, toiletries, etc? Could it be she left on her own and left her phone behind to not track her?

Unfortunately, a more nefarious scenario could be that someone was either waiting for her when she got home or showed up while she was there and forced her to leave with them. I would think 5-5:30 would be an odd time for a burglary as it is still bright and light out, but maybe there was another reason? MOO

All the comments on social media say Ashley is very stable and responsible, to go missing is a huge red flag.

I'm also worried there is something nefarious at play. No updates this morning :(

Does anyone know if Ashley lives alone?

Who reported her missing and when?

I have a bad feeling about this case.

*modsnip / quoted post was removed*

One of her friends that posted about her missing added a comment to that thread regarding ATM. Hopefully, LE is following up. I think all ATM's have cameras now. One of my coworkers went missing years ago as he left work. He was found shot in the back of the head in the trunk of his personal car. We were federal agents so everyone was totally spooked that we were being targeted (it can happen). It turned out he was meeting up with some young lady after work he met online, she had no idea what his job was, and her boyfriend shot him to steal his ATM and credit cards (it was a planned robbery). The ATM camera captured both of them and they are still in prison.
