Ok here is a view that is kinda of far fetched. What if ol Maxy boy is in the witness protection program. I know I know it's way out there. But he has been in this area of peoples lives and befriended them for over 20 years. That's a long time to run a shuck and jive on folks. Jmo
Yes I believe A left with him willingly. Yes she will protect him. Plus who is to say anything happened but a friendship. ( no I'm not naive) but really who saw them. And no I do not know any of these people.
A could have been running from something in her home life (she did go to a camp for troubled kids) what's up with that. I'm not defending anyone. Yes he knew better she did too, but him especially. I do believe there is more to all this than what has been said.
With her being home I truly hope her parents go about things slowly and correct with her or she will take off again....

Whatever he was hiding from, it finally caught up to him. I think he was probably hiding from creditors, or possibly the court system, when he assumed a fake identity no telling how many years ago. He could have shelled out a few hundred bucks and gotten a drivers license and social security card issued in whatever name he wanted via the black market.

13 felony charges is a good start, but I think even the D.A. knows that the majority of those are just fluff that can be used during plea negotiations. Any charges that can be brought by the State of Calif., and not by A, have a better chance of sticking. I'm surprised he was stupid enough to take her across state lines, because that always gets the feds involved when there is a minor in the mix.

A appeared to be such a willing participant in this caper, I still highly doubt that she's going to be willing to implicate Max in any way. If they were able to add a couple of charges against her, basically turning her into a defendant, it might help to get more cooperation. Those charges could always be dropped of course if she was willing to give full disclosure about what happened between her and Max. It doesn't look like they plan on taking that approach however.

Has anybody heard any updates on this? I'm still curious about Max's identity.

I noticed on his facebook acct that 2 lady friends are both from the same areas in Australia maybe he is from there. Also, the nationality of the name Kozak references the name spelled as Cossack. I wonder if the authorities have reached out and contacted those on his facebook account and questioned them, as to his identity?

I'm a little curious why this case has gotten so quiet. Has he been arraigned, has he made an initial appearance in front of a judge, has a bail amount been set ??......did they just bury him under the jail ?

I don't think she needs to forget him...

I think she needs to see him as what he is...

A man who preyed upon a child, and lied about who he is/was

A man who lured her from her family...

And taught her that what he said wasn't necessarily the truth...

Hard, hard lessons for a girl her age...

May she have plenty of support while she deals with this!

She is beautiful with a full life ahead of herself, and she needs to realize her self worth. I hope she doesn't forget him, but I hope she opens her eyes.

That black kitty that is your avatar is so super cute I'm melting... :heartluv:

It's a long story but I can understand this girl...I hope she will have the help she needs and a lot of love, that I think it's the most she needs.

"Court documents indicate he’s been using the name "Max Kozak" for about 15 years. Before that, however, detectives are stumped.

Kozak reportedly told detectives that the name is fake but that he will never reveal his true identity. "

If he has ever been arrested in the U.S for a "fingerprinatable offense", served in the military or worked for a Government contracting agency requiring a security clearance, he has previously been fingerprinted. If this is the case, his identity will be revealed. It make take some time, but every set of prints are checked and cross checked. If not...
