@dbdb11 Thank you for being here and your family has been on my mind and in my prayers. Can you verify BT & RT were involved with the Herbalife company? Apologies if you addressed this previously, since I had to skip pages to catch up. I'm hoping this nightmare ends soon for you and your family xoxo

If the above Herbalife Information is true, is that why RT knew that BT was kidnapped and taken to Vegas?
OR
Were there other people in the Desert with them that day? Something went wrong, and that could be why a deception was shown on the lie detection test.

Both situations would clear RT from being responsible for her disappearance but would put him in a situation not to be able to tell everything that really happened that day.

All I have is my memory. So I will amend my post to say, "If I recall correctly, Scott Peterson told the media that he failed a polygraph test". It might have been in the Diane Sawyer interview.

Thanks, Kapua. I’m sure you have a good memory and nothing Scott Peterson would say or do would surprise me!

IMO something is “off” in his interviews. While he might not be directly involved in her disappearance, he could be hiding something relevant. Given the location and circumstances, a stranger abduction seems highly unlikely. However, if someone was following/watching/stalking them it would be possible.

LE always knows a lot more then they let on. There is a reason they are still searching that area. They might have evidence suggesting she was kidnapped, murdered and left in the desert.

As the husband had at least one cell phone (Barbara’s), law enforcement is most likely checking those records/cell tower pings etc. This info will help prove/disprove his narrative.

A lot of speculating going on. Would be interesting to know about his/her backgrounds. Good example is the Lueck murderer - his background spoke volumes.

does anyone know if the police have confirmed Robbies statement of a deceptive polygraph?

seems he is the onlyone who has said anything about it. police still maintain no foul play suspected?
They are remaining tight-lipped. MOO

Video: The search continues for 69-year-old hiker Barbara Thomas
At the end of this video, the reporter says, "Investigators say the questions they asked RT are standard for missing person investigations stressing they do not suspect foul play in this case."

SBCSO says they are not releasing any information about the missing person investigation and interviews with family members.

Cops insist they're examining 'all possibilities' after missing hiker's husband claimed he's suspect | Daily Mail Online
'At this time, our search efforts are directed on locating Mrs. Thomas in the area last witnessed by Mr. Thomas,' San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer, Jodi Miller told DailyMail.com Thursday when asked about his claim he was a 'prime suspect'.

Miller added to DailyMail.com: 'As with all of missing person cases we examine all possibilities with the desired outcome of locating the missing person.'

I'm not seeing what this anonymous police report from 34 years about (about Herbalife smuggling cocaine into the country with their shipments) has to do with Barb's disappearance? Can you explain?
Dbdb11 is our valued verified insider on this case. The question is: Could their involvement with that MLM scheme be related to her disappearance?

Thanks to Trisha and especially to dbdb11 valued verified insider on this case for coming on WS to talk to us.

A Little Background
This is from a 2000 article in the LA Times after Mr Hughes (Herbalife’s founder) was found dead of what was ruled natural causes.

According to the affidavit you posted dbdb11 this would dovetail with the founding of Herbalife.

Mark Hughes, Founder of Herbalife, Dies at 44

In the mid-1980s, Hughes, who was 24 when he started his company, was sued by the Food and Drug Administration, the California attorney general’s office, and the state Department of Health, over what they said were false health claims about Herbalife products and the various schemes used to market them.

Hughes in 1985 defended his controversial diet powders and pills during a hearing before a panel of U.S. senators. Attacking three nutrition and weight-control authorities who questioned the safety of his products
I remember the senate hearing in the 80’s. I also remember all the conspiracy theories surrounding Herbalife’s founder’s death in 2000.

I am just in a state of shock that over the last 30 something years ‘I have read of Herbalife’ now sadly in 2019 it may be all tied ‘to the frightening mysterious affidavit’ you posted. :(

Thanks for taking time to give us a better idea of the frightening circumstances and desperate search for Barbara. This is an extremely difficult time for your family and I admire you for your courage and unselfishness to sit down and talk to us at W/S.
MOO

Yes, I know....would be nice if an explanation was given for posting that link.

Can anyone think of a case where a POI admitted to the press that LE said he was being deceptive in the polygraph and he later turned out to have murdered the missing person? I can only think of cases where an innocent POI admitted LE told them that and later someone else was arrested and convicted. If he had harmed her, he wouldn't want to admit to the public that police told him he was deceptive in the polygraph. MOO.

Mark Redwine. Not convicted (yet) but trial coming in September.

Ok..one theory from the husband is that she was abducted. Please don't take this the wrong way,but why?? Ransom?? Sex??? She is beautiful for her age,but c'mon. Most stranger abductions seem to be of much younger women. JMO

Could you please direct me to where the fact that he had her cell phone came from? I’ve been trying to verify that fact.

When I think of them it amazes me how wonderful and youthful they both look. Usually those spending a lot of time in the sun look rugged looking.
Are they still searching for Barbara in the same place?

Also regarding the beer and the bikini those two words sell papers. Boots and a hat don't!

I don't live near the Mojave Desert, so I have to ask this dumb question. Do "mules" drop packages out there?

Sorry - I’ve searched for where I read where he had her cell in his bag but I can’t find it now!! If anyone else comes across it, please post.

Just about every article says she had no supplies or cellphone with her. Maybe that's what you're remembering? It was July 17 before we even heard he had a pack. Thanks for looking! MOO

Bringing this post forward that mentions the 360° photo just to point out that the photo was apparently taken in the morning. So, I don't think it was taken on the hike which means if she used her phone to take the photo, her phone could have been left in the camper or truck (vs. the pack RT was carrying).

hmmm i don’t have the sharpest memory but i’ll try to recount as best as i can - robbie and said he needs to talk to daddy and that barbara’s missing. it was a long story that started at the beginning on friday morning and progressed chronologically throughout the day. the impression robbie gave me was that she was wearing a red cap, a bikini and carrying a travel cup with beer in it. they lost sight of each other for 5-10 minutes before she “vanished” and he went back to their rv to see if she had returned but it was still locked so that meant she hadn’t come back yet (they had put the key under a rock which they both knew the location of). so he went back to check a shaded cave that they had found together earlier thinking she may have been taking a break from the heat but she wasn’t there either. he still wasn’t worried at this point because.. i don’t remember why he said he wasn’t yet worried. maybe because they both knew the area? or this was a regular thing? idk not sure but he continued searching for her on his own. by around noon time it was getting terribly hot so he started getting worried and called 911. police arrived like 2 hours later and searched for her. robbie said throughout the day they had sniff dogs, horses, hundreds of people and even a helicopter (which unfortunately couldn’t use its infrared function because it was too hot out to get any useful readings) and nobody could find any trace of her. searched throughout the night too. nothing. she had just disappeared. robbie admits “it doesn’t make any sense” that she just wandered off and got lost and there’s no evidence.. which is why he suspects she may have been picked up in a car. also because from the spot where she went missing she had to cross a highway in order to get back to where their rv was parked. also apparently she took a 360 picture that morning from on top of a hill and the photo included a parking lot with some vehicles in it so the police are looking into their license plates/info.

robbie said that he just wants barbara back and will press no charges against the person who abducted her so long as they return her. the call was delivered in a measured tone but he broke down a bit at this point, was tough to hear:( ..abc reached out? idk if it was abc but some mainstream news outlet and i definitely heard nancy grace mentioned. robbie’s done some interviews as he wants to get the word out. but he hasn’t seen or read any of the released news and comments. it’s too much

he said he keeps returning to the spot where he lost her and overturning rocks and searching and searching hoping to find something. he was there the day he called us although i think he said he shouldn’t really go back there as protocol says he’s the first suspect. he was even held for 5hrs in a cop car on the first day. it’s been nonstop and nobody is sleeping. robbie said he had held off on calling daddy to tell him the bad news because it was such devastating news and he was hoping she would turn up.. but he couldn’t wait any longer. he also said it’s difficult to call into china and said his calls rarely go through so if we want to ask any questions or talk more we should call him.
txt msg from my sister. wish i.asked.for this.earlier...

I remember at least one article stating that Robert had her cell in his backpack. Whe. I read that, I remember understanding why he would have her cell in his bag if she was only wearing a bikini (no pockets) and that cell data should be accessible.

Bugs me that I can’t find the article(s) now!

It could be that the article was edited/corrected. We see that all the time and it can be frustrating. "I know I read that!" LOL :p

Either this is the perfect storm, (had phone but didn't carry it, bikini, only hydration a beer), or someone is telling a big whopper; a deadly tale.
Has anyone been able to determine if K9's were deployed and picked up her scent? Apologies if I've missed this; the thread is moving fast.
