Something about the direction Barbara walked in.
Robert saw her turning a corner, which of course wasn't a 45 degree angle left or right, but merely going slightly a little left or right and some rock causing Robert not able to see her.

This means, with only minutes between them, and Robert having been able to see her before the corner, that as soon as he turned the corner she would be in his sight again, but she wasn't, he never saw her again the entire way to the trailer.

That would then mean she never walked into that direction, or better discontinued to walk into that direction, for some reason at some point.
But if for example she stopped because she felt dizzy, Robert would come across her, the distance between them becoming smaller had she sat down for a bit.
So she would have to walk into a wrong direction while Robert continued his way to the trailer, expecting to see her there, not aware she was walking somewhere left or right to him.

Had she walked to the trailer, she would have popped up in his sight again at some point.

"Perhaps the trip to China to see the brother was some how a trigger to this disappearance. "

I think it was.
maybe RT was concerned she would not return because they had been have problems? Just a thought.

I speculate this disappearance will be solved by street/biz cam footage that will be reviewed after the last known contact with BT. I believe this will lead LE to her.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Robert was very much in love with his wife.

Mods or those "in the know", since home ownership records are public knowledge, can I post a Google map showing the direct route from their home to where BT disappeared?

ETA: They are both on title.

I’m not sure what I think about the way RT said “Absolutely not,” but I will note that virtually every guilty person on Dateline, etc. says exactly the same thing - some more emphatically than others.

That makes this whole situation even sadder. Let’s hope it is resolved soon.

In last nights’ posts here at WS, a couple of things brought up bears further discussion:

1) The time discrepancy. According to media reports, RT informed law enforcement he and his wife got separated at 2:30 pm. And we know from dispatch records that his call came in at 3:26:24 pm.

But, according to our VI here (dbdb11), his family was told by RT that by around 12:00 noon is when he called 911, after having lost sight of her and looking around for her on his own, including going back to a cave they found earlier. Then, police came around two hours later, which would be 2:00 pm. RT’s account here doesn’t jibe with the dispatch records.

2) Our poster moonrise brought up a good point about their dog, if they do have one (dbdb11 has said she’s “always had at least one dog”, and that she’s a “dog person”). Where was this dog when this I’ll fated trip happened? Many would bring their dog with them on a trip in the camper. If they didn’t, was the dog being dog-sat by someone else? Wish we knew.

How do you know this?
Not meaning to be snarky at all, but have you witnessed their relationship? Or are you saying this because Robert said so?

I have to wonder if the media blitz that happened in the Sheryl Powell case influenced his thoughts of an abduction? Her family starting saying she had been abducted on day 2 and the media picked it up immediately. These two disappeared on the same day. Just musing, but the timing is interesting.

Excellent point Knox, I thought the same thing....Two great minds, thinking alike, lol.

Can we 100% confirm she was in the desert with him? I assume that photo is from a phone, which would have an accurate time stamp? Just getting Deorr Kunz vibes here. I hope and pray she is brought home safely.

100%, no, but the VI stated that there are timestamped photos.

And, in this scenario you would have to assume she wasn’t visible in the distance. It’s not like she was in a tunnel where one wrong turn never to be seen. It was an area with some rock and short trees but mainly visible for miles, if I’m correct.

According to CA Department of Transportation, there is only ONE live traffic camera along the I-40 between stateline and Barstow - and that is at Havasu National Wildlife Refuge.

The only cameras that might have shown the camper leaving (if they hadn't stopped anywhere once they left home) MIGHT be any street cameras that exist between their home and the I-40 onramp they probably took.

I wonder if anyone can verify that BT actually wrote the “love notes” RT trotted out. Personally that whole thing struck me as weird. Her loving him proves and disproves nothing, except it would suggest she didn’t leave voluntarily. And if she really was kidnapped, her feelings toward RT are irrelevant. I wonder what his thought process was there.

Is there something you are going to point out? Just curious.

Well, if you look at photos and video of the search, you can see some of the brush is so tall that the searchers just about disappear from view with the dogs.

Yep, but I'm truly, respectfully, asking out of curiosity, what else could an innocent person say when asked that question?

Yes, people have been commenting a lot on traffic and security camera catching sight of Barbara, but based on a Google map, it appears that is highly unlikely. I wanted to show that there is basically NOTHING streetwise between their home and Kelbaker Road.

It's obvious, think of the tiny love notes Barbara puts on his pillow at night.

What about neighbors with security cameras? Bet LE has already verified she left that morning.
