Barbara has been missing for 3 weeks.
If she was injured or was overcome by the heat or became lost while heading back to their vehicle (within 5 - 10 minutes walk from the road and ahead of her husband and where their RV was parked as RT described) I believe LE and SAR would have found her after searching with all resources to hand for more than a week.
If she was kidnapped for ransom and / or other felonious / criminal reasons, I believe the person(s) who were holding her would have made a demand by now (not that the public would know about it), and LE is aware of it and is proceeding with their investigation into it.
If she disappeared intentionally, I believe it would have been pretty difficult to plan for without a cell phone in the middle of the desert, and there were no indications that she had any reason to do so when she had plane tickets and was just about to travel overseas to be with her sick brother the following week.
If she was abducted by a random passerby as she came into view of the road and / or approached or entered their RV ahead of her husband, I believe her abductor must have been intent on assaulting her and would likely have taken her hostage and / or silenced her thereafter, and she could be anywhere and LE would have a monumental task on their hands trying to find her. But they said they don't believe she was abducted from such a remote location.
If there are other scenarios that are plausible under the circumstances, they seem to be even more far fetched, IMO. Her disappearance is dumbfounding to me, as I've said before (well, I actually said 'perplexing', but either word feels right to me).
I wish BT could send a message to her loved ones that she is okay. Time will tell, thinking of her and her loved ones and hoping for an outcome that includes her being alive and well somewhere!! MOO
