So, there is no evidence that BT was actually in the location where she allegedly disappeared?
Is this an accurate statement?
We don't know.
The police may have evidence that has not been made public. For example, there may be time-stamped photos that include Barbara on Robert's camera or phone.

I think it is reasonable to assume for sure that they didn't find evidence that she wasn't ever there. They would not have searched for 9 days if they had. Obviously not the same as having evidence that she was there- which I agree we do not know.

"Many times a body is found right in the area they’ve searched at later date by others."
Do you have any idea how often that occurs %-wise with searches comparable in professionalism and thoroughness to BT's search?
I don’t have the percentages because I don’t think a study has been done. I just know there are numerous stories on this occurring, and if you’d like me to link multiple examples, I’m happy to do so.

I think I would just like to know if Barbara chose not to have a cell phone, or was prevented from having one. I’d also like to know more about her circle of friends and if she participated in any hobbies or activities that did not also involve RT in any way.

In so many missing persons cases we see friends and family tirelessly spreading the word, retracing steps(I realize extreme weather might discourage people getting out and about at the disappearance site, but maybe rent a drone?), pressuring local media to run updates, starting a FIND THIS PERSON FB Page. I wonder if there is any kind of group effort by her friends and/or family. I would be raising perpetual hell if this were my spouse or a friend.
We’d all love more information. All we have so far is what the VI has told us, and that is that they seemed like a great match, got along well, and he hasn’t mentioned that he noticed any signs of control, abuse or strife.

In regards to what RT should or should not be doing, we don’t know that, either. He might be heavily engaged with the police investigation right now, and for all we know he was assisting SAR in his best capacity. We don’t know. We also don’t know if the police have asked him to let them take the lead for now.

That's OK.
I just wondered if you had some stats on it or if it was anecdotal.

Yes, but I was wondering about friends and family efforts.

It would be helpful to have a definition of what "random accusations" actually means.
Half the thread would disappear if they were removed, but it’s pretty clear to me. It’s saying ‘I think he’s lying’, ‘They’d have found her if she was out there’, ‘he’s clearly being dishonest in his interview because (random reason xyz), ‘obviously he made he story up because it makes no sense to me’, ‘her clothing and lack of phone and beer drinking make no sense so his story must be a lie’. And on and on.

MOD WARNING:

PAGES OF POSTS ARE BEING DELETED FOR A VARIETY OF TOS VIOLATIONS. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY TO GIVE AN EXPLANATION TO EACH POSTER WHO HAS POSTED IN VIOLATION OF TOS, SO IF YOUR POST HAS DISAPPEARED, IT IS FOR THAT REASON. TO BE SAFE, BE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOUR POST IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH TOS BEFORE YOU POST IT, OTHERWISE DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF IT IS GONE AT SOME POINT.

ALSO, PLEASE PLEASE REFRAIN FROM RESPONDING TO POSTS THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY AGAINST THE RULES. IT MAKES A BIGGER MESS TO CLEAN UP WHEN POSTERS CONTINUE TO QUOTE THE OFFENDING POSTS ATTEMPTING TO RIGHT THE WRONG. JUST PLEASE STOP THAT.

THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO BE RESPECTFUL AND RESPONSIBLE MEMBERS OF WEBSLEUTHS.

I hope dbdb11's request to SARDrones gets acted upon. If I could have my wish, I'd want them to carefully go over the already-searched area and then, if nothing found, gradually and carefully widen the search area by a further 3 or 4 feet and circle the entire search area, continuing outward in ever-widening circles until the max BT could have traveled is reached, and then extend by another half mile out or so. I'd volunteer to view SARDrone footage of searches like that if it could be done from my home computer. Bet others would too.

I’m confident LE is working diligently to find out what happened to Barbara. Whatever happened, they will get to the bottom of it. MOO

I'm just hoping and praying answers come soon. As always, holding out hope BT comes back safely.
So many cases. So little time. :( BT is what brought me to this thread, and any and all attention to her being missing is important IMO.
Many missing, many other threads needing attention also.

If you register on their site for instance, sign up for newsletters by email, you can post comments such as your willingness to review video. There are also options to share Barbara's flyer from there onto Social Media. (Near the bottom of the page.) https://sardrones.org/2019/08/01/missing-person-in-mojave-desert/ MOO

I would be interested in examples of missing persons whose bodies were eventually found in an area that was previously searched. I am sure there are many, and no doubt some have threads on Websleuths. This site is a rich source of information about missing persons cases but I'm not sure how to search the site for such examples.

It seems to happen frequently. Just recently, in Savanna Spurlock's case and Elizabeth Shelley, the body was found after extensive searches in that exact location, after having missed it. Search dogs were used in both cases. Imo

No link right now.
Chandra Levy?
I believe after many searches she was located right off the trail in Rockcreek Park by a man walking his dog.
***I'm incorrect. That park had been searched, even with dogs, but where her remains were found, had not been. Sorry about that.***
Too many to mention.

I was just thinking of Savannah Spurlock. I was seriously losing hope, but she WAS found! And yes, in a place that had been searched. Just so many factors can affect searches. Barbara CAN be found.

It took 5 long months to locate Caylee Anthony's remains, but it can be argued either way whether that exact spot had been searched before. Also she wasn't reported missing for about a month.
I need a break.

I could start linking cases, but it would really fill up this thread. There are so many. Here’s one just from scrolling briefly through popular missing person cases. Over 12 searches made, from November until his body discovered in March: Ronald Hughes - Wikipedia
