Perhaps a timing coincidence. But, have to ask, are you directing this at me for bringing up the cell phone "issue" ? To clarify, I don't know if denying your wife a cell/smart phone - if true - and that's a big if true at this point - makes one more likely responsible for her disappearance. But, even you have to agree, it's darn interesting if true.

I don't see why she could not have had a cell phone if she wanted to.
According to the VI, it seemed she had no interest.
Her family gave her one to use in Hong Kong and she left it behind.
If she didn't have many friends or much of a social life I can see why she may not have had a use for a cell phone, especially since she was a private person. Imo

But...I'm getting a vibe that reminds me of Michael Peterson (just a 'vibe' IF RT had anything to do with her disappearance, purely speculation here to be clear) in the sense of a 'perfect' marriage, soul mates, everyone thought they were perfect yadda yadda

Even Kathleen (MP's wife who he murdered) probably believed that until that final second. Turns out Michael Peterson was living a double life & IMO was & is a psychopath

Sorry to bring up another case - but after viewing the photos & apparently he's camped out at a casino/resort, ignoring her beloved dog, etc - just reminding me of the other case. His personality also seems 'larger than life' to me: narcissistic even.

There could be any number of reasons for various things. & it's quite possible RT isn't doing well psychologically, which, cannot say I'd blame him!!!

Still hanging out on the fence. Seems like LE is very tight lipped - so, until she's found, OR there is an arrest - aside from our VI (thanks for being here!), I just don't think we are going to get a whole lot more to work with.

I notice from the pics that BT also has a blue cap, a white cap, and a wide brimmed, tan (perhaps straw) hat in addition to the red one. I assume that she routinely wore hats when outdoors for a stretch of time.

Frustration, fear, exasperation, determination, hope, devotion and love for Barbara and your family. You're doing an awesome job of tearing down the obstacles of distance so the world can know your sweet aunt. Brought a lump to my throat and a tear or two at times. Good job!

@firstsleuth As a complete outsider with no knowledge of the area, I can only compare it in general terms, so my offer is:
We're told they often go on these trips, so had probably travelled that road a few times. Maybe on earlier occasions they had said while passing, "We'll stop and have a look at that outcrop, that creek, some time", and this time they did. They might have made another short stop earlier on.

I expect most of us have experienced something similar as we drive past a point of interest: "Must visit there one day .... "
