Google Maps: Report Inappropriate Image
More of the Chevron station and K store with 360 images.
I take it that RT parked the truck with the 5th wheel RV across the street at the Red Roof Inn and walked to the store.

If it were my 5th wheel and I did not need gas, I would also park at this spot. No matter if I were going to continue forward or turn around and go back the way I drove in.. Plenty of room to make that U turn if needed.

Lots of tire marks on the road where others have done just that..

Now I want a Polar Pop.. Only 49 cents !! :D:)

To me, it almost sounded like RT mentioned "his wife" just to establish with an independent witness the fact that "his wife" was waiting for him in the RV.

YES.... that was my first thought when reading that post.....but forgot that apparently there is photographic evidence of Barbara actually being at the site of their hike.

I don't find that unusual at all. When our children, friends or grandchildren call my hubby he always puts his phone on speaker.

That way we both can hear, and both of us can converse with whomever is on the phone.

Our kids do the same when we call them so their wife or husband can hear us too, and both can talk to us at the same time.

Imo, If Barbara did this it shows what she had to say or what was being said back she had nothing to hide that she didn't want him to hear.

Imo, it shows their relationship was an open, and honest one. I know many elderly couples who do the same thing.

I agree, speakerphone makes sense for the types of calls you describe. But there are also controlling spouses who insist on every call being on speaker. The controlled spouse is never allowed a private call - not with a friend or relative or coworker. No privacy. No autonomy.

In this case, with reports that no one ever saw BT alone unless she was walking her dog, I’d love confirmation that she was allowed to decide if and when she would conduct her phone calls on speaker. Especially because we’re told that RT has the freedom to take his phone calls out of earshot (which I agree can indicate his being courteous).

Naggy - finding fault? With the store clerk?
Or naggy as spillover from an argument with Barb and he was being sarcastic about not being able to get out of the truck with out his wife’s help?

Without hearing and seeing the actual exchange with RT and the clerk - could be interpreted several ways.

Was this a convenience store/gas station or more like a truck stop?

I've never heard the word 'naggy' before, so I don't know what was meant.

I think she must have been in the truck at the convenience stop and for whatever reason, RT wanted it known. I have a couple of ideas but don’t want to violate TOS in any way.

I’d love to know if CCTV from the Red Roof Inn shows BT.

If she wasn't in the truck, how would she have gotten to the desert?
Oh, BT was almost certainly in either the truck or the RV.

The fact that she wasn't seen could mean she wasn't sitting in the front seat of the truck.
She may not have been sitting anywhere, period.

Why would one assume the clerk is mistaken?

Is there some reason perhaps sleuthed privately that his words or impressions cannot be trusted?

In that location I’m sure he sees RVs of all configurations and abilities or inabilities daily.

Those types of clerks are pretty observant, imo, it seems it’s a matter of safety for themselves, equipment and their patrons.

Twisting his words makes no sense. Occam’s razor and all.

There is still quite a bit of unaccounted time from there until the emergency call, no?

all imo

I believe We can't trust people and their recall ..
That clerk is on camera to assist in memory.
LE was after that camera and then asking questions of the clerk.

And he was a little naggy because he was parked in the road and in a hurry to get out of there before someone bashed into his new rig.

He was parked in the road?

The reason the clerk’s words are being “twisted” is that they make no sense as spoken, since RT blatantly jogged back to the truck and climbed in unassisted. But the interpretation put forth by RVers makes perfect sense. The clerk’s wording can be interpreted more than one way.

One thing we are forgetting is that @dbdb11 said that the clerk told him RT came to the store in a “roundabout way.” That may account for his explanation mentioning his wife...if he came in the wrong door and was turned around, irritated and frustrated, he could have explained his error by explaining why he parked across the road. We don’t know.

I’m no fan of RT, but when there are reasonable explanations for his actions that are logical and don’t involve something nefarious I think it’s fair to put them forth.

Yes, the unaccounted for time until the 911 call is huge.

He was parked in the road?

No, he was apparently parked across the road in a safe location to pull over. People don’t stop their RVs in the road to run into a store.

Thank you mods and admins for keeping Barbara in the headlines here, when not many seem to care!

I have been in contact with a media person who first wrote about her, and to me it appears with these new writers, unless news comes to them (via social media) there are no news.

They don't dig. They don't care to find out what actually happened. (jmo.)

In Barbara's case it's unfortunate another lady was lost but soon found around the same time ( I mean great for her and her family) but reading around SM and seeing comments about Barbara, the general population appear to have mixed them up.

Media will see the clicks and the comments and post updates according to interest. imo, there is no public interest her because they believe she has been found already.

There need to be POSTERS put up in both the area where she was last seen and the area she was lost. There need to be constant phone calls and contact by family members or friends asking for updates and progression, and daily sharing of posts on SM about her being missing.

I have seen NOTHING on social media (FB) except for the group, that is closed, and has turned into a joke since the admin left.

Who is actually DOING something for Barbara? It's all fine to sit here and discuss, but who has contacted media, put up posters, shared her picture, done anything that will actually help find her?

WS is doing a great job in bringing attention to her, but what can YOU do?
