Sure. But it still means she got to go see her family, and he did not.
I've since learned most of his fam lives states side within a few hours drive or even quicker flight from AZ, so I think they just snow birded up there in summer months... Just my speculation, it has never been clarified for me.

BTs son said the way they communicated was through email.
I am glad he explained that, personally I could never get an answer out of him about how they were communicating.

And, within a year of being without Robbie for the "longest time" since they were married...she decides she wants another taste of life without Robbie (for another time).

If she'd keep an illness to herself, I'm pretty sure she'd be pretty tightlipped about any other problems.

Thank you for sharing your memories of Barbara with us. I want this case to get to the point where you don't have to focus on sleuthing her past and worrying about what happened.
BBM. Her brother was ill, I think that was the impetus for the trip vs. getting distance from the husband. However, neither of us really knows.

Amateur opinion and speculation

WS also kindly asked us not to talk about the MLM.
Yes, I was referring to anything reported in the media, not here.
If there was any kind of connection, it would be hard to keep that kind of information from being leaked, I would think. Imo

I've had a bad feeling about this since day one. the statistics are not in Barbara's favor.

We don't know a lot here, but, we do know...…..

1) Barbra had an upcoming visit to HK scheduled
2) Barbra and RT left to go on a hike, he came home, Barb didn't.
3) Barbra hasn't had contact with family/friends/beloved dog
4) RT last 'saw' her 1/4 mile from the RV, yet searches turned up nothing and no evidence of Barb (an experienced hiker).

I know everyone reacts differently under stress and tragedy, but RT's interviews were hinky beyond words. I'd put his lack of emotion and 'oddness' right up there with the Chris Watts porch debacle.

Barbra appeared to be healthy, stable and wonderful woman, I don't believe she would just run off on her own volition and leave a trail of chaos and pain in her wake.

I don't believe she left on her own, I don't believe she was abducted. I do believe RT has more answers than he's sharing and I do believe LE is following up closely here.

Barbra has really struck a cord with me, she looks like an amazing person and I am holding out hope:

Yes, referring to other post-- RT is not the one in danger from anyone.
No one here at WS has ever stated they would harm him.
That is a fabrication, plain and simple.
And it's somewhat rude to refer to commenters at Websleuths as "idiots", don't you think ?
NM, the focus should be on Barbara and finding out what happened.

The person in danger is the one who is MISSING ... Barbara.
All efforts need to be expended to find her !
That would include tracking phone pings, to finding out where RT's vehicles traveled that day.
We are discussing only what RT has said to the media; much of which makes no sense and does not line up with known facts.

Nothing else is more important.
Including those who think their 'feelings' might be offended !
A lady is gone and her family is hurting .

Ok, I talked to a detective friend of ours about this case. He said it definitely sounds hinky and there’s no doubt a lot going on behind the scenes. Also, he said that getting media involved is key to getting more information or even a press conference. So, I emailed AGAIN everyone on that wonderful list posted a while back. Can someone bump that again because I’m not sure how and maybe if we continue to barrage them with emails someone will eventually listen? Maybe?

No. You are correct. The impetus of the trip, on both occasions, was to visit her brother. The effect of the trip was to put temporary distance, whether intended or not.

I'd like to offer up a calibrator for some of our speculations. I posted this resource upthread, and it's so incredibly useful, here it is again:
https://crime-data-explorer.fr.cloud.gov
This is the FBI's "Crime Data Explorer". You can look at crime stats in Arizona as a good directional calibrator.

Some interesting points that surprisingly validate the notion of an abduction on the highway, and point out it's highly improbable a 72 year old man had anything to do with this disappearance:

Arizona
All violent crimes victims demographics
Location type - Residence home came in #1, with Highway or Street #2

Victim’s relationship to the offender - Stranger #1 by far, and spouse came in far behind stranger at #5

About 80% of offenders are men,

Top three weapons used in crime: Personal weapons, Knife, Handgun

Offense linked to other offenses: 1)Destruction of property 2)Weapon law violation 3)Kidnapping /abduction

Homicide

Circumstances: 1) UUnknown 2)Arguments 3)Narcotics
Murder weapon 1)Handgun 2)Other firearms 3)Other - knives, etc.

Victim’s relationship to Perp: 1)UUnknown 2)Acquaintance 3)Stranger 4)Girlfriend 5)Wife

Perp - Age 70-79 - (Far less than 1.0% at 0.2380952380952381)

I encourage you to look through this FBI database on crime stats in Arizona.

In what way were his interviews "hinky beyond words?"

Chris Watt's body language and words indicated deception. He had his arms crossed in front of his body, he rocked back and forth, his eyes looked right and left instead of steadily looking at the person interviewing him. He constantly paused and repeated himself, as if searching for the right words.
He laughed nervously, avoided direct questions, and instead of answering in a complete sentence said "umm, like, and," etc, which is a sign that the person is searching for words, trying to think what to say because they are making it up as they go along.

Other than RT's explanation of Barbara being kidnapped not making much sense, I didn't notice any clear signs of deception. Imo
