I actually don’t like how Bernadine is portrayed in this article (like victim blaming) but has good information about the detective who worked the case.

I don’t know for sure when..I don’t think it was before Friday
I think you are right about needing a cold case detective to take this on.

I think one of the best things we can help you do first is get your evidence organised, your questions organised, and help you get a 'pitch' together so you can be effective when you get the chance to ask them to reopen the investigation.

Wow. It sounds like that Detective Kallestead really did try to solve this heartbreaking case. I wonder what happened?

It is great though because there should be a lot of info and potential evidence in those files since he was known to be a detail oriented investigator.

This seems like a perfect case for a cold case detective to take on now.

I was 13 at the time..I was kept from accurate details. Once I was an adult I was scared to probe and also figured it wouldn’t bring her back. In the last 2 months I’ve had friends and family send me things after they learned I didn’t know. I got those news articles sent to me 3 days ago. My mom was supposed to attend a youth group meeting with me on Thursday night..the night she disappeared. She called me to tell me she couldn’t come home but would be home in the morning. She never came home. Her body was found on Sunday. I literally learned from news articles that my stepdad told police he saw her last Saturday morning! Coroner put her death at late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
I am so sorry about your mother. I hope some of the great sleuths on here are able to help or point you in the right direction.

Putting a timeline together might be helpful?
4pm - left Sally’s bar
- called you, she couldn’t come home
- youth group meeting time start
- when you were told she was missing

I don’t either!! How do I save this art? I’ve never seen it. Yes she was Mormon but she also aspired to be a country singer and I was told she was there playing her guitar and singing..not sure if that’s true or not. She was also miserable in a new marriage. The new husband was not who he had seemed to be.

I knew she was missing when she wasn’t home in the morning.

Hi Danie, so sorry your mother Bernardines case wasn’t solved at the time, it’s hard to believe someone so evil would do this only once. Unfortunately I suppose DNA wasn’t collected or kept from that time.
I have found a number of articles I can post.
ease post any articles you can find. I’ve only seen the 3 I posted and they were just sent to me this week!

Yeah. I feel like if the case bothered this seasoned detective for so long, it will surely spark interest in someone working cold cases now.

Good morning, Brokenheartedforever had help to locate her Moms headstone after many years. Yesterday she received a photo that we have to share. Reads her moms name, birth year-to year of death. At bottom says wife of her stepdads name! Not one thing that she was s mother. What are your thoughts?

Being the photo of headstone is public, are we allowed to share here with his name?

It is a miracle that he is still alive and working. lol

He is the one man who has access to all of the old evidence. What a fortunate turn for BHF.
