It’s been this way the entire time, nothing comes up.

At the one and only single press conference it appeared as though the state was going to be aggressive. It’s been the opposite, there is literally no info circulating.

I've been encountering the same info blackout with my cousin's murderer's trial.

*Trial continues (Day 2) & Hearing (@ 9am PT) – CA – Blaze Bernstein (19) (Jan. 2, 2018, Lake Forest; found Jan. 9, 2018; he was stabbed 19 times in his neck; 14 times on the left, 5 on the right & 1 stab wound in his left knee) – *Samuel Lincoln Woodward (20/now 25) arrested & charged (1/17/18) & arraigned (11/9/18) with 1 count of felony murder with a hate crime enhancement for killing someone because of their sexual orientation & sentencing enhancement-personal use of a knife. Plead not guilty (again on 11/9/18). $5M bail, bail revoked (11/9/18). In custody of the Theo Lacy jail.
Trial was set to begin on 7/15/22 with jury selection was vacated for competency evaluation. Found competent (10/21/22) to stand trial.
Trial began on 1/12/24 with jury selection (??)

I can not believe that I am coming up with NOTHING on searches for this trial.... wondering if a jury has been selected since they are starting at 1:45pm today.... ??

I have done extensive searches on this case. I don’t understand the lack of info. I found out his mother is a counselor but that is it.

The DA seemed engaged at the beginning but absent after that.

It was my hope that once it gets going we would get some info. No national news, talk show news, online news, E-books, cable news, podcasts etc.

There hasn’t been any episodes on Dateline, 48Hours or 2020. There has to be a reason for this. It’s very unusual and I don’t understand it.

Some cases generate more publicity/interest than others. I don't understand it either...

What's weird is there was a lot of attention given to this case in the early days, including an episode of 48 Hours. But now it's crickets.

I did a search on The OC Register and the last articles were from fall 2022.

Sounds like the defense still has motions to be heard. And I too am surprised there is no coverage considering they had a lot when it first happened...

Yes. The presser alone was very grand. They appeared genuinely passionate about getting justice for Blaze. His parents were interviewed on different networks. His friends were also vocal about how much of a great person he was.

He certainly had alot of talent and he was enthusiastic about his future plans.
