I wonder if there is any other information available, like where the pay stub originated and who killed him.

Deputies said a Southern Pacific Railroad employee was checking the railroad cats of a train, which had come from Los Angeles Monday morning, when he discovered the body at the bottom of a gondola car, which had been carrying sugar beets.

Deputies said the sugar beets had been unloaded in Los Angeles before the train arrived at 10:30 a.m.

An autopsy Tuesday revealed that a man, whose body was found Monday in the bottom of an empty freight train car here, had been shot to death.

The young Hispanic man, whose identity had not yet been confirmed, was discovered at the bottom of a gondola car by a Southern Pacific Railroad employee who was checking the cars of a freight train.

A deputy coroner said it appeared that the man had been killed within 24 hours of the time his body was found. Investigators said they believe he was killed sometime before the train rolled into the Bloomington train yard, about 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff's homicide Sgt. Dick Lake said payroll papers found in the railroad car have led investigators to believe that the victim was a migrant worker from Mexico who had recently worked in a Northern California farming community. But Lake said no positive identification had been made by Tuesday evening.
