Temps are still in the upper 50's at night in that area so that's good news. He was planning a day hike.

The article says he has water available and knows how to make a shelter, and seems to have been wearing appropriate hiking clothing. So I think there's still hope.

Wow, I have high hopes for this man *if* it's a case of being missing. Someone with that amount of experience should have left details of where he planned to hike IMHO.

WHY don't hikers wear bright colors? It would make things easier if they got lost.

Fresno Sheriff's Search & Rescue Team Assist Search For Missing Hiker In Alpine County
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team is helping look for a missing Stockton man.

“On Wednesday night, we sent a few members of our Search and Rescue Team up north to Alpine County,” said Fresno County Sheriff Spokesperson Tony Botti. “They are there to assist other agencies in the search.”

Botti says SAR members have been challenged by rugged terrain and temperatures dipping into the teens.

Unfortunately, Bradford Dozier's body has been found. He appears to have died in a fall.

"The search for missing person Bradford Dozier ended on November 3, 2018, when his body was found at the base of a cliff in Alpine County, California. Mr. Dozier died as a result of his injuries when he fell approximately two-hundred feet as he attempted to free climb steep terrain on the north side of Peak 9626. Mr. Dozier was described by family and friends as an avid and strong hiker who enjoyed climbing peaks in the Sierras. The Alpine County Sheriff's Office, along with all involved emergency personnel convey our condolences to Mr. Dozier's wife, family and friends."

So so sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers going out to his family. :(

When I read that he liked free climbing I was afraid of this outcome. My condolences to his wife and children. Not the outcome we all prayed and hoped for.

Thinking of Bradford's family today.. Sounds like a life well lived. To live and die doing what you love, in the beautiful outdoors, we should all be so fortunate to have such an end.
