Found Deceased CA - Brooke Harris, 49, El Dorado Hills, El Dorado County, 14 Feb 2019

why do they so often rule out foul play so quickly when someone is found dead that was a missing person (for a week!)? these days, with so much domestic abuse/murder in the news, seems they would just omit saying that at all until they can investigate it further. where was she for a week? was she found in the area/town where she lives? and no one spotted her for 7 days? i hope it's not foul play, but either way, rip brooke.

I would say that something made it immediately obvious to the police that BH committed suicide.

Seems like she lived with some torment the past few years. (Moo) and I somewhat silently wonder about the self harm after seeing this:
The newspaper reported that Harris “was fired for admitting to drinking alcohol while working as a hospice nurse.” The newspaper further alleged that the accusations involved drinking vodka at work, which she allegedly explained as involving “severe anxiety about seeing her husband.”

The cause of that anxiety was not clear.”

Damn is right ... Now we wait for COD. Wishing truckloads of comfort on Brooke's fam & friends.

Sleuthing doesn't end with this news. Much still to be learned. AND ... From the perspective of someone with multiple potential "Brookes" in my family, I truly desire information about recent events leading up, triggers, signs others noticed, where the hell she spent the week undetected, and ultimately how she passed.

Absolutely. We need to wait for all the facts, though police stating that it did not look like foul play does say a lot. . Sad for her family and friends, who obviously love her so much.

Something is suspicious...

The first report from the sheriff's office on 2/17 states - BH was last seen on the evening of February 13 by her daughter and made a phone call from her cell phone to her husband on the morning of February 14th. Brooke’s cell phone was later found in her residence and there was no evidence of foul play at the home.

The Pubilc/Online Sheriff Daily Call Log on 2/14 States - BH was reported missing at 12:57 p.m. on Feb 14th. BH was last seen alive on camera @ Casino at 4:30 p.m. on Feb14th.

Question - Doesn't the timing suspicious between last phone call to husband then he calls to report her missing a few hours later? Yes, she was still alive, however, why report her missing so soon?

Next, The Sheriff Daily Call Log States on 2/20/19 States - the EDH Sheriff Office + Corner were called out at 10:01 a.m. The local media is saying the call was reported at 4:30 p.m. (6-hour difference)

However, on 2/20 the Sheriff Office sent out an FB update at 12:00 ish stating (paraphrasing) - This investigation is still active and we want to share some information with the community. We have found no evidence of foul play and have found no evidence that any crime has been committed. Please, keep an eye out for Brooke and her vehicle, and contact us directly if you have any information which can help us locate her.

General curiosity: aside from the initial scene showing likely COD, could LE's "not foul play" wording also mean natural causes?
According to government code § 27491 linked to the sheriff's call log - it's classified as an unattended death, known/suspected suicide, and the coroner is required to inquire into the cause/manner of death.

So she called hub from her cell phone the morning of the 14th, left her phone at the house and went to the casino. At 12:57pm on the same day she is reported missing.
Did something in the phone call alert the husband?

Had already typed and saw Penny’s post - wonder if hub came home for lunch to check on her?

Of note, authorities said there was no video evidence showing Harris ever entering the casino. It remained unclear how Harris came to arrive at the venue and whether she left her cellphone at her residence by design.

Harris was a registered nurse who surrendered her license in 2016 — but had it reinstated the week before she vanished, according to KCRA.

Records showed Harris being fired from a hospice in April 2014 after being found with vodka at work, saying she suffered severe anxiety about seeing her husband, registered nurse, Manny Harris.

She surrendered her license two years later, but in April 2018 she filed a petition to have it reinstated along with six letters of recommendation.

Licensing records revealed Harris suffering from mental health issues, KCRA reported. It was not immediately clear if those issues played any role in her disappearance or death.

Oh gosh that sounds like she told husband she was going to do something to herself .

So if those timings are correct above (just a few hours after phone call to husband she’s then reported missing ) ... so say she said she was going to do something awful to herself .... how come the police report to Facebook was a good few days later and not immediately?

Sorry I’m in UK and sometimes can’t read the links posted because of country
