@ dragracerz: When (date/time) did Bryce send that last text to the current roommate?

Has it been confirmed that what the roommate said was texted was, in fact, the exact verbiage Bryce texted? TIA

When we send our kids off to college they are adults and we the family are kept behind closed doors of many things that is going on with our kids. We think and hope they tell us the truth about everything but unfortunately most of the time that is not the case. We are usual the last to know until something like this happens. They usually tell us parents what we want to hear because we are the PARENTS. Obviously, Bryce had some underlying deep issues he was dealing with according to the text messages to Sean that thanked him for saving his soul.

I as a Mom of a college student worry about these missing student cases all the time. I called my 23 year son last night who is at a frat function in Lake Arrowhead over the weekend just to tell him "I love him" he hates me calling him because he wants his freedom from his mom and dad. All we can do is put it in the lords hands and pray they make the right decisions. There is only so much parents can do when the kids are adults.

I would recommend calling in Texas Equusearch. They do a great job and were called to Cali for many other missing person cases.

Dragracerz, are the police allowing independent searchers to come out to the area and search?

Yes, I believe some groups from the FB page were doing searches

Call Texas Equusearch Mounted search and recovery team ran by Tim Miller. They have recovered many missing persons. They are excellent in matters like this and are ran by donations.

Great suggestion!

Aren't they also well known for their sophisticated water search equipment? TIA

This could be a great asset if they would come on board.

Families with no history of mental illness can also be a victim. Doesn't have to be anyone within the family with a prior history. Just BOOM and there it is. A walking, living hell!

My prayers continue for Bryce, and his family and loved ones. I would pray that IF he is in a psychiatric facility, the family would be informed even without a history of mental illness. My fear is that him being over 18, they wouldn't have to release that information. I know the times my sister has been in a facility, you had to know a password to get any information. Even something simple like has she been sent home yet, they wouldn't release. And if you called, the hospital would give NO information of her even being a patient! You had to know what phrases to use when calling, and that password to even be connected to the floor she was on. VERY strict with that information!

Sorry to hear about your sis and dad ((hugs))

It is true that no family history needed. There is none in my side if family, and dads side had an old great aunt somewhere down the lineage who wouldn't leave her home (fear of people?) but that was many generations back. Drs believe that my sons mental illness was due to a ore existing 'high functioning Aspergers' which wasn't diagnosed until after his hospitalization and psychotic episode. Basically they diagnosed him with Aspergers because I said when he was a toddler he was picky about certain aspects of clothes. Ie if tag on shirt was tucked in, he would take shirt off and refuse to put another on, or if seam in sock wasn't just so...he'd take socks and shoes off, didn't like the feel of jeans on his skin so wore khakis or sweats, etc. about 50% of males who are diagnosed with Aspergers or autism develop schizophrenia in early adulthood. (Don't have link but can find and pm to anyone who asks). That's why I asked about Aspergers/autism factor also.

True, hospitals are VERY strict on info released, but if there is a missing person report, mom should get a call that says "sons all right but cannot disclose info without sons written consent". Didn't happen in our case the first time, but did in subsequent disappearances.

Ok, going back to the scene of the accident... let's take it from there. Dogs track A SCENT to the water...don't know who's scent, but a scent. The men that found the vehicle...did they go to the water? Maybe the dogs tracked them?

Bryce isn't use to camping out the great outdoors. So what would be the chances of him staying secluded versus going to the public road, or gas station and waiting for help? Though dark when he wrecked, the store would have a phone. Plus it wasn't long after the wreck that the vehicle was discovered. So how far could he have gotten ON FOOT from the wreck?

Assuming no one else is involved, just Bryce and the vehicle...
Ready... set... go!

I have thought along this line also. He may have headed into town for help but then got picked up, lets say by someone who likes to party. If his state of mind were off at that point, he may have gone along for the party. He could be crashed out with someone. Or he got picked up and has traveled far from the scene altogether. Might be somewhere strange to him and if his mind set is off due to drugs or??? but is to confused to know it.

Being that Bryce's case is critical I would believe it would be considered a high priority case and TES would come to Cali. If Bryce is in or around the lake area TES will find him if not than at least that area can be ruled out. Tim Miller knows his work and is an expert in this field.

BBM. Everything I've looked at says that children with aspberger's only have a slightly higher than average chance of developing schizophrenia later on. Can you PM me that link to look at? Thanks!

ETA: I'm sorry for all you've been through. Mental illness can be so unpredictable that there's no "rulebook" or "guide" to be able to go by. You often times have to wing it, and many people around you just don't understand what you're going through.

So we have a record here ...

Here's screen print of BL's last txt msg to current roommate.

Wonder what the blocked out txt msg above BL's said?
