A body, reportedly that of a man, could mean not a teenage male. Anyone else thinking that?

Well, over eighteen is a man, legally. So hard to say.

I am hoping and praying that's what it means. Whoever it is still needs to be identified though. Whoever it is may he rest in peace.

After finding all those recent bodies in my search the other night (total of 5! since june!) I really feel that the burning body dumped near Castaic Lake is part of a serial killer and hopefully has nothing to do with Bryce and his accident. I believe that's why the autopsy has been sealed. The ME has probably already done the autopsy and is releasing that statement and deferring calls to LE because LE is close to nabbing the POI and doesn't want to tip them off. Jmo

This is approximate area. BL's car went off Main Ramp Rd (which may have been closed off by the gate at that hour?). His scent was picked up by the K9s around Government Cove Rd which is down the same road closer to the water. The body was found (I think!) between Lake Hughes RD & Gov't Cove Rd.

Since the burned body has not been identified yet as Bryce or anyone else, then the police should still be searching for Bryce because if it's not Bryce, he's still out there. KWIM? And if LE isn't searching for Bryce because they don't know if the body is his, then I would think the autospy for ID would have been schedule already and become a priority. KWIM??

They were definitely still searching yesterday with boats and divers on Castaic Lake. I know the FB page said the search would continue through the weekend.

IIRC the search for BL was to continue through the weekend. I sure hope they haven't stopped searching, I have thought of driving down there to help search myself, but to be honest I'm a bit scared because of all the other bodies found in the area.

Another thing I noticed on the news clips regarding the burning body.....It didn't appear that much of the brush was burned. I expected to see a blackened area around where the tents are set up but there are none. Leads me to think that body was dumped, accelerant used, set on fire and POI left scene, bicyclist must have come on the scene pretty quickly and then FD showed up and extinguished fire pretty fast since it didn't spread to brush area?

So maybe bicyclist saw the POIs vehicle leaving or going to the scene?

If they are still searching then I think they know the burned body is not him, so that is good. They are still looking in the lake, under the surface. That may not mean anything other than they don't know where else to look for him.

I cant answer that. There have been volunteers from the FB page doing wonderful things, searches, putting up flyers, etc.

I would suggest putting up a post on the page and see if any groups are going and maybe join in or coordinate to have 1 group in one area and 1 group in another.

I think the one you are referring to was a few days after Bryce went missing, but there are people still out doing what they can.

... A body, reportedly that of a man, was found burning near Castaic Lake on Wednesday, but the body remained unidentified Friday, said [CH], a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The body has not been autopsied and was not scheduled to be on Friday, [CH] said.

It is not yet known when the body will be ready for examination, [CH] said.

BBM: The body may need to be processed in a certain way before it is safe to be handled by the ME. This is most likely due to the hazardous materials involved in the fire. Fumes can be overpowering and also highly flammable.

Thank you for the responses. If they are still looking for Bryce then maybe that says they think it's unrelated to the burned body. The face that LASD might have a serial killer on their hands, now I can see why they are being so tight lipped about anything. In the middle of this, Bryce disappeared. Who knows if and how it would be related? I can ee it being a very intense investigation if a serial killer is involved. Giving no info keeps the perp from being tipped off.

I take them looking for Bryce as a good sign.

Okay, another opinion. MAYBE the workers that go in for training at the lake...(I remember someone saying that they are there early AM) ACCIDENTALLY hit Bryce after he rolled his car and was walking for help. BL possibly couldn't find his phone. Possibly the hit and run driver panicked and hid the body. Then panicked more and went back and burned it because of evidence (again, early AM). Sounds like an additional worker saw the car. Any damage to any of those workers cars?

but... Maybe that is why we have not heard more about Marti Myers' case since she has been found (deceased ) ... She was from Castaic... And was found Sunday, 9-1-13...
