Marc Klaas' team does not concentrate on searches, from what I can tell and Amber's team has assisted them in organizing. I think they are getting a ton of assistance.

I can't think of one such missing person/adult case where they have made their way to a police station or hospital. Not one. Can you?

That's the big problem. Endangered adults in trouble, whether medical or otherwise, don't show up at police stations or hospitals. In fact, it seems those are the last places they turn up at.

Welcome!!!!!!!

No I can't think of anyone who went to police or hospital offhand...but then I don't think he is wandering around with amnesia all this time. As I said, IF he is not deceased and if he is NOT staying away on purpose (which are the two main theories for me) then I can't imagine police not having come across him somewhere, i.e as a "new" vagrant.

I do not believe he hopped a ride with a trucker.
Personally, I feel he is not alive, but there is also a chance he decided to "cut out" of his life for a while, or forever. JMO

Ivy Merck went missing mysteriously out of Georgia almost a year ago. She left her beloved dog at a kennel and then disappeared. Her car was found in Florida abandoned a few days later in a strip mall parking lot. 21 days later she was found on a Miami police station front steps.

Ivy's case seemed full of mystery (and possible tragedy) but ended up a miracle. I think it can happen.

We're missing a lot of details at what appears to be ground zero ...

  1. Any evidence the driver of the SUV, presumably BL, was in the vehicle while it was tumbling down the hill?
  2. At the take off point, above the crash site, were there footprints observed, next to where the driver's side of the vehicle would have been just prior to SUV going off the drop off? If so, were they size 12?
  3. Was the rear window shattered from the crash? Or manually broken from the inside or outside?
  4. Where was the small amount of blood located? Did the blood appear to be as a result of this crash or was it deposited at some prior time? Whose blood was it?
  5. Were the SUV keys recovered? Where were they located?
  6. Were the passenger doors locked?
  7. Were the windows up or down?
  8. Was the radio in the on or off position?
  9. Was BL's "green book sack" found in the crashed SUV? At his apt? Not found, it's missing?
  10. What kind of drink did BL buy in Buttonwillow? Was the can/cup recovered in the SUV?
  11. Was the engine running when the crashed SUV was discovered by the ?fisherman??
Additionally ... I'd like to know how BL typically reacted when he became very frustrated, with his Mom for example.

BBM. Interesting. I cannot tell you how many times I was called in to a case for that very thing, only to find that LE, First Responders, etc...had tromped all over the prints. Sometimes I could pull out a good print, but many times they had destroyed the evidence.

I think the answers to your questions would clearly indicate if the SUV was an accident, or staged to look like an accident. The prints would have indicated by who.

Just a thought -- Is it possible that Bryce doesn't even know a single phone number without his cell phone 'contacts' to call someone for help? Especially seeing as how his parents moved to CA last year...

Absolutely. I don't even know the number where I work. It's under "work"... in my phone. :blushing:

I don't believe Team Amber has all the sophisticated equipment TES does. I don't think LE wanted them there in the beginning due to the burned body they were investigating but That has all been solved so no more excuses from LE.

They may not but they know how to organize and they have found missing people. Sometimes fancy equipment is not needed, just organized feet.

Amnesia was never my first choice nor was a voluntary disappearance. I suspect he had a mental break if some sort. But regardless, there are multiple cases we have discussed on Bryce's thread Of people who have done just what you feel is not so possible: Disappeared without a trace and not come up as a "vagrant" somewhere:

Kacasha Station- mIssing from 8-24 through 9-13.

Brenda Heist -missing 11 years.

Laudan Talby - missing 8 days.

Philip Sessarego - missing from 1993 to 2002.

Matthew Hygh- missing two weeks.

Eric Myers - missing 16 years.

Denise Desruisseaux- missing from 1985-2002.

Matthew Royer - college student missing 8 days.

Aisha Khan - college student missing 5 days.

Gabriel Nagy - missing 23 years. Thought to have suffered amnesia after a car crash.

All except Gabriel were missing voluntarily. Why not Bryce? I could actually list an avalanche more, mostly college kids who suddenly disappeared and then reappeared, never showing up at a police station or hospital. Why not Bryce?

I'd sure love to hear your read of this case!

My theory keeps bouncing in new directions with each bit of released information.

Ivy left purposely. Not sure I would call her case a miracle, JMO.

I said I DO think it is possible he is missing voluntarily. What my point was is that if he is NOT missing voluntarily, i.e is wandering around dazed, I think he would have turned up. JMO

It's a good thought, but wouldn't he at least know 911?

There have been a few women lately who have gone to the police station but only after missing for two or three days.

Amanda Berry called 911 ;). But she was kidnapped not hurt and willingly missing.

Why no Texas Equusearch? They are the absolute best and don't charge anything at all. Tim Miller who runs it turns down no one.

Because LE said no, IIRC. Which is absolutely infuriating to me.

What's BBM at the start of some posts?

BBM = Bolded By Me

FYI: There is a list of abbreviations somewhere on this site.
Maybe someone, who knows where it's located, could post it here? TIA

I can't seem to locate Kissime's post now so I'm wondering if it was taken down. Just in case, I removed my response to it as well. (In case it was a violation). If it was removed, then I guess I am confused on the rules. Kissime posted a link to a Chicago Tribune obituary. I would have thought Chicago Tribune would be a legit, allowable source to link to? If someone wants to clear me up on the protocol, please feel free to help me out. :) Thank you!!!

And since I removed my other post, let me reiterate to Kissime, WELCOME!!!! :)

Dragracerz posted they would not work with previous detective and that he could not discuss the "why's". Hopefully with new investigators they will reconsider...

TES was on board a week ago. But when the family submitted the paperwork to the detective (previous one), the detective wouldn't sign off on it.

I hope they fix the search meet up location from Starbucks to the Amber Rescue info!

I believe the explanation is that we're not to post about people
who are not mentioned in MSM articles about this case. JMO

I think the mention of the other site / issue was the first reason, but we are also not permitted to bring info in or sleuth other family members unrelated to the disappearance.

Gosh I wish something new would come up. Feels like there hasn't been any real news or sightings or frankly anything in 3 days now. The Amber team helping I guess is new but its more of continuing search efforts then continuing developments.

I just feel like every passing day with no new developments is making me anxious.
