Thank you, dragracerz. Our hearts & prayers go out for Bryce and your family. :grouphug:

I don't follow this thread that closely, so I'm a little confused!
From what I understand, there were multiple dog searches, and there were different results.

Can someone give me a quick overview of these searches and where the scent was traced?

Thanks!

Here is what is bothering me...

You cannot survive for more than say 3 days without good clean drinking water...less in a hot and dry environment. After about a week without food, your body would become weak you would not be able to move. (anyone been watching nekkid survival?) I also know this from my training....

So even if Bryce is alive and well after the crash, he would need food and water. He can't be just "camping out" or hiding in the woods. Circumstances dictate he would need have a source of food and water.

If he is in a confused/disoriented state for what ever reason and in the woods, after this amount of time either he is being cared for, or...I just don't want to go down that road at this time.

It was posted that he was not in the vehicle when it went over the embankment. Why the blood then? There would be no physical trauma. If the glass from the window is inside the SUV, it was broken from the outside. If the glass was on the outside, it was broken from the inside...that one is pretty simple and would fly in the face of him not being in the vehicle when it went over....OR...there was more than one person in the vehicle and Bryce was not alone and he helped the second person get out.

His scent trail goes off into the wilderness area according to the SAR dogs. Unless there are other convenient egress points within a mile or two out of that wilderness area...he's still there.

If this is all staged, it was very well planned....but I doubt it.

I noticed the webcam at Castaic has been temporarily halted - last update at 7:01 AM, and the one prior was 5:39 AM. Link: http://www.castaiclake.com/webcam.html Just curious of course... on hyper alert about anything surrounding Castaic...

There is always the possibility that the blood that was found in his car was there prior to the car going over the embankment and even prior to him arriving in Castaic. Perhaps Dragracerz can tell us the location of the blood in the car?

aside from the searing pain up your nostril and most likely a headache, yes, nothing more.

I just called my BIL who is an ER DR at an OC hospital and asked about the vyvanse. He asked how many mg did he take? Did he have food in his stomach? Did he mix any other drugs with it like alcohol? Many factors to consider. Each case is different. He highly doubted it was just one tablet over the course of four days to cause zero sleep and that he was most likely not being truthful about the amount taken. He sees this all the time as he has been an ER Dr 35 yrs. He said coming down off of it can be very brutal to your system causing extreme paranoia and delusions.

I pray he comes home safely soon. Maybe the family can hire a private investigator. They have so many resources to thousands of databases. We used one before who did find our son. I'm sorry it was so long ago I can't remember his name.

Here is a link to one in CA I know nothing about him.

Ok, lets clear some things up here !

LE stated that their findings were that Bryce left the Castaic park area BECAUSE the bloodhounds followed his scent leading out of the park. Not too difficult to
understand that.

I don't understand, if they believe this ...why did they spend all this time searching there??

I pray for Bryce. Where he is, whatever he is doing, if he is still alive I feel he needs help and prayers.

There has to have been foul play or a planned runaway otherwise this comment makes no sense at all

They found his cell phone, wallet with all of his credit cards, laptop and all of his clothing in the car,” she said.

This quote if from a news article very early on. Has this been explained?

http://hometownstation.com/santa-clarita-news/missing-teens-car-found-overturned-castaic-37484 jmo

Nothing has been explained in this case. Three weeks and no DNA on the blood yet. That's crazy. LASD must be back logged with cases.

Any local bus stations around there? Might be a good place to hang flyers.

Does that mean he was naked?? ^^^^^

That poster said when they first posted that they're a parent of child in Bryce's dorm.

Thanks. I should've been more detailed in my post. I did remember that, but still wondered why she'd know what medications Bryce was taking. My parents didn't know nearly that much about my dorm neighbors, and their parents didn't know that much about my medical care (heck I'm not even sure my parents knew what medications I was on - nothing odd, just allergy meds and birth control, but I don't think I ever really mentioned it to them). That's why I was trying to figure out how Caron would know that. Is the stuff that commonly prescribed or sold amongst the college students or something? And Caron I should've clarified I don't mean to pry if you don't want to answer. I just found it surprising.

Does that mean he was naked?? ^^^^^

You know, that's a very good question. There's another case I follow here, Jason Kyles: CA CA - Jason Kyles, 34, Oakmont/Sacramento, 1-Feb-2013. In April he was seen "<snip> on a mountain bike trail in Annadel State Park. Jason had removed all of his clothing and was doing a walking meditation. " (link to specific post here: Jason Kyles, 34, Oakmont/Sacramento, 1-Feb-2013)

Obviously whole different case, different person, etc. but if mental illness is somehow in play, that's a possibility.

I took that to mean "all of the extra clothes Bryce brought with him," but I see what you mean there's a whole different way that could be taken.

I have spent a good part of today cleaning up this thread. It has become a place for way too much speculation.

Unless you can link it to MSM, do not speculate or discuss drug addiction, drug dealing, drug running, rehab, secret half- or step- siblings or Bryce's sexuality.

Again, if it's in MSM, you can link and discuss, if not, DO NOT GO THERE!

Does that mean he was naked?? ^^^^^
No, prob just the clothes he had packed in a bag. It said the last thing he was seen wearing were the white cargo shorts, blue/wht checkered or plaid shirt, and his red and white Nike high tops.

IMO it seems plausible that BL was experiencing paranoia/delusions from either one or combination of the following: lack of sleep, onset of mental illness, or from possible Adderall/Vyvense abuse. Maybe these delusions would explain driving twice up to castaic, parking/hiding behind the cell tower, and the crash? Maybe he was running away from something in his delusions? This could explain the car crash, as IMO the crash location and path of car seem very odd for it to be either an accidental or a purposeful crash. If he was running from something the crash scene makes more sense. Even after the crash he may have still been running from whatever he may have been scared of in his delusion/paranoia. This would explain why he didn't stop to get his ID or phone or clothing or something. I strongly believe he would have grabbed at least one of those things if it was an intentional running away.

Ugh, I so strongly believe that a more thorough search of the lake area needs to be done, preferably by someone with success in finding missing persons, like Texas Equusearch. Is this an option the family can still pursue?

Active search for missing teen at Castaic Lake called off
September 18, 2013, 1:35 p.m

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/...off-for-missing-teen-20130918,0,1979903.story

Again? Sheesh how many times can they call off this search? Maybe it's a delay in reporting.
(ETA hope that didn't sound critical Quester, I really appreciate you sharing the link)

One interesting note from the article, since people had asked about this before, "His father has been at Castaic Lake nearly every day to aid the search effort."

Looks like they finally released the ID of that burning body found nearby as well (Lamondre Deon Miles). I must've missed it because the article says it was last week. Sounds like it's completely unrelated.
