I wonder if the vehicle was still running, had the lights on, or radio on?

Don't know. Some have theorized that might be why he ran out of gas, sitting with the vehicle running for the AC..but nothing has officially been stated.

And true, I don't believe I've read anything that said he told LE he was going to his parents'.

:fence:

Missing adult. 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug 29. ...
Description
9:33 p.m.: DEP HERNANDEZ FROM KERN CO SHERIFF`S HAS FOUND SUBJECT BRYCE AT A HOTEL AT HWY 58//FWY 5 SUBJECT SAID THAT HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO VISIT A FRIEND DEP STATED SUBJECT IS NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE NEEDED AND NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM SUBJECT WAS TOLD TO CONTACT HIS FAMILY AND ADV OF LOCATION

If there is a way to get Dep. Hernandez of the Kern County Sheriff's Dept to fill in the gaps for us, that could provide a bit more valuable insight. Was Bryce actually staying at that hotel for 10 hours that day? Or was he hanging out in front? As an adult, it seems the Dep. does not call back parents to state just what the adult is doing, but he tells Bryce to call home and let his parents know where he is. So as mom said, something was happening in those 10 hours. Maybe a friend there with Bryce, and Dep. Hernandez may have information that sheds light on everything. Okay, not everything. Just a little bit of light ;) :dunno:

Back up folks....

He DID get gas other than the 3 gallons. It was noted on the debit/credit card he was using.

He DID say he was going home right before the wreck. His last call was with one of the parents and he said he was tired, and pulling off to take a nap, and would then be home. That was like around 2 am or so... then police showed up at their home asking if their vehicle had been stolen because they found it wrecked with no driver.

We have nothing stated he ate at all in 3 days/but we also haven't heard if he had any cash. Uncle stated records were checked, and small purchases PRIOR to all this didn't indicated he was stashing cash.

Those are my thoughts, too. Now, IF he was staying that day in a nice cool Buttonwillow truckers hotel room, and his friend paid, then possibly that friend had purchased some food and beverages and they made a day of it. Kicking back with pizza, beer, tv. My other post asks if we can get clarification from Dep. Hernandez....

oops I meant when the wrecked vehicle was found, was it running, lights on and/or radio on

when/where did he gas up after getting the 3 gallons delivered in Buttonwillow? and wasn't that daytime? Was he ON the interstate?
I must have missed that he gassed up after ward...

Bryce is adorable in this goofy little video, unscripted. He might not want to be called "adorable" since he's a guy, so I'll say he is cool and brave and funny and not shy at all :) It shows his true nature, a relaxed and happy kid / young man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4e5Q0GJZQ0 Take care, Bryce, we are all pulling for you.

I asked the same question in the last thread. Someone DID produce a post by @Dragracerz stating he had a purchase of approx. $39 and change at the Shell station for fuel.

I almost had a heart attack reading this quote. I thought it said BL had been found...in the present not the past tense. Damn. : (

BBM: I had not seen that anywhere. Link please? I'd be interesting to know approximately how much gas he had in his vehicle when it crashed. TIA.

Okay I read it some where now can't find it- that his 2am call with Mom, about going to pull off interstate, the cell pinged supposedly in Fraizer Park? Well Fraizer Park is 33 miles from Castaic and that tower is here-( AT&T one)
34.774222 -118.968500

So when he made that 2:08 am call to say he was pulling off the interstate in a suburban area, he was actually pinging in Fraizer Park?

Then he got to Castaic somewhere around 2:38 am or right after.

Wow what a twist. There is so much more to this story. I wonder if he had met a woman/ hooker on a website earlier and hooked up at that hotel for some of those 10 hours, had sex. After he felt so riddled with guilt because of his love for Kim he took his own life at the lake.

I believe he purchased gas at the Oasis Valero Gas station right off the 5 freeway near the rest stop in Buttonwillow at 12:30pm on Thursday (per KL's interview on John and Ken) which means that he had the 3 gallons of gas delivered, left to put $39 worth of gas in his car, and then returned to the rest stop to sit in his car (?) in the same place in the parking lot.

That is the part I can't wrap my head around (well, one of the eleventybillion parts. ;) ). DID he go BACK to the rest stop after he got the fuel or did he get the fuel LATER? I can't make the fuel purchase work in the timeline... :banghead:

I'm on holiday but keep checking for news on Bryce when I can get wifi.

I'm more interested in this hotel rather than some potential sighting by a friend of a froemd's grandfather's cousin or something.

I don't see any motel/hotels on Lagoon Drive (???) using the google map guy. Did the police find him on Lagoon Drive once and at a motel/hotel another time? Or did they find his car on Lagoon Drive and him somewhere else? Or is there a motel/hotel that I am missing? His mom said, in the John and Ken interview, that the police found him sitting in his car parked on Lagoon Drive in Buttonwillow. (The police log is hard for me to understand.)

She also stated in that interview that he told the Kern County Police that "he was heading down to Laguna Niguel and he wanted to blow off steam with a friend." I think that possibly mom was assuming the friend he was going to hang out with was one in Laguna Niguel because she also says he doesn't have any friends between school and home (which I don't know why she would assume that he couldn't have met someone while at school up north that she may not have known about.)

He went back to sitting in the same parking lot after getting the gas. None of it makes any sense. There is a lot of missing information, obviously.
