No. I'm talking about lake Hughes. I'm showing pictures of lake Hughes rd. I attempted it as I stated. Even with reversing I couldn't do it at the area where is accident was in my SUV. This is not a 3 lane.

You can't tell me someone would rather try to uturn in a narrow 2 lane then turn into a driveway.

If KS had brought the items to the search area (and thus handled them and/or had them in her possession for several hours) and had previously searched in the area would that have a possibility of contaminating the items and or search area?

It has happened on rare occasions. Not saying it happened this time. Just a little confused by the two scent trails.

i'd pull into the driveway but back out rather than drive forward... if my intent was truly to turn around.

I hope this isn't taken as criticism, but I hope Bryces family doesn't limit their search options or theories on the basis that they believe Bryce was only "experimenting" with marijuana. Whether someone is a heavy user or tee total, it doesn't make them any less worth searching for when they go missing. JMO

The drop off was 15' from the driveway. The driveway was also at a nice angle. Even if he just over gassed it slightly when he turned into it he could have gone over.

Also you can see tracks around the gate that someone has driven on before. If I didn't know better from seeing pics, at night I would have thought it was safe to go around.

He's 19, not every 19 year old would feel comfortable reversing onto possible on coming traffic. Sure there probably weren't many cars but going in that turn doesn't sound far fetched at all.

When I go on Google maps and put the little guy down in the road right at the spot he entered into the area of the tower there are two lanes heading east and one lane heading west. There is a shoulder to the right of the two lanes and, what looks like, a pretty significant shoulder on the westbound lane. Has the road been changed (narrowed) since the Google Map images were taken? I have an SUV and wouldn't have a problem making a U-Turn from what I see on Google Maps. (Even at two lanes I could manage it...or at the very least a 3 point turn.)

I apologize. I meant driving down the mountain. He drove down the mountain for the first 50 or so feet. Where it was more like a 45deg angle. When it gets steeper the car likely then rolled. It goes from about 45 deg to 30 deg half way down the hill.

I realize this question may not help with finding Bryce, but I'm just wondering - if he held the wheel straight the whole time, do you think he could've made it down to the road? I'm wondering if he panicked and turned the wheel, which ultimately caused the tires to catch and SUV to roll. I guess I'm trying to figure out just how deliberate (or not) this part of his drive might've been.

Yes, if you go up further it is 2 lanes but this is where he would have been making the turn. 3 lanes with a shoulder. Entrance on the left.

It must have been narrowed or something. I swear to you its a 2 lane road. If it was 3 lanes we wouldn't be debating this. As a matter of fact I was telling my husband to be careful everytime I saw a car coming toward us because it was windy and only 2 lanes. Its pretty gnarly at night.

Trying to figure this out. The accident site area on Main Ramp Road (Red Circle) is very narrow & 2 lanes. I can see not being able to U-Turn there, but Bryce couldn't have gotten down there anyway since the gate was closed at that hour.

But the area on Lake Hughes Rd by the cell tower (Blue Circle) where he went down from - is that no longer a 3 lane road wide enough for a U-Turn?

The first 50' were very drive able. The issue is after that it gets much steeper and its got some boulders and such that easily could flip it. As far as facts go, the tracks go straight for at least 50' when you see a large area of compressed brush from the first flip. After that its hard to see the other flips until the very last one which happened right before he went down the embankment.

This is not what it looks like now. If I have to I'll go back and get pics standing there. I'm waiting for my husband to send the pics any second now to see if I have one of the road.

Also in that pic it only shows road on the right side of the antenna. On the left side of the antenna its also road.

Based on the SUVs tracks down the mountain its impossible someone pushed it. The tracks go in a straight line and based on the terrain which was very uneven if no one was inside the car would have gone either left or right depending on which side his cars wheel alignment favors more. Someone definitely was inside holding the wheel.

Thanks for your insight Amanda! We know that the keys were found in the ignition but I don't recall ever hearing if the car was running when found? This brings the question that if it was not running and the steering wheel was in the "locked" position it could potentially go straight down a hill. It would also make braking very limited. If this was posted elsewhere I apologize. Thanks again for all of your hard work in bringing light to the location for us!!! Just hoping to find Bryce soon!!!

When did his probation (in Illinois from previous run in with police) end? Is it possible he was still on probation and perhaps he was still required to check in for drug testing? Maybe he knew he wasn't going to pass (because of pill(s) he took) and instead of going forth and not passing the test, he concocted this elaborate plan to crash his vehicle and "disappear"? Maybe he spent the 2 hours looking for the perfect spot? Drove off the cliff on purpose, walked away, to where the dogs lost his scent and got in a waiting vehicle?

It had already ended, and the type of probation he was on did not require reporting or drug testing.

Just trying to make sure we are talking about the same part of the road.

Yellow circle now - this isn't still 3 lanes right here?

No. Its 2 lanes. They probably just made them 2 wider lanes because large boats and trailers go up that hill.

How do we know the time of the wreck?

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Bryce-Laspisa-Missing-Person-Castaic-Lake-222226581.html

Per the video, at 0:28, "Friday at 5:30 a.m." (the vehicle was found).
The accompanying article gives other information but neither component alone tells the complete story. What's written in the article confuses understanding of the facts.

If the Toyota was found at 5:30 a.m., then the vehicle wrecked earlier.
(The article states the caller waited three hours until reporting the vehicle as per my previous post before I signed out last night.)

This is only one article but was written early on in the case.

First my husband tried to uturn. Then I got in the car and tried to uturn. I guess its possible we both suck at 3 point turns but I'd like to say that my 10 years of driving and his 16 years of driving have to say something. Maybe in a sedan but not in a SUV.

Amanda- Would you say it was possible that he could have walked straight down Main ramp road to government cove?

Do we know which way the dogs track him to the dam?
