He initially told his Mom he was pulling off in a residential area. Maybe he pulled off there where the scent ends and when leaving he turned the wrong way and went up and turned around through the opening in the guard rails by the tower and went behind the tower??

What date was that? If he left the park within an hour or two after his car wrecked, what date was that?

Is the place the scent ended near a road? I can't tell.

As far as I can tell when looking at the map Dragracerz posted it looks like the scent ends on Castaic Lake Drive. Maybe Dragracerz can tell us if that's right.

And we still don't know from which end the scent began though, is this correct? Like, dam to road or road to dam.
Heck, I haven't gotten as far as knowing where the damn dam is located!

That's what it appears like to me as well.

When did his probation (in Illinois from previous run in with police) end? Is it possible he was still on probation and perhaps he was still required to check in for drug testing? Maybe he knew he wasn't going to pass (because of pill(s) he took) and instead of going forth and not passing the test, he concocted this elaborate plan to crash his vehicle and "disappear"? Maybe he spent the 2 hours looking for the perfect spot? Drove off the cliff on purpose, walked away, to where the dogs lost his scent and got in a waiting vehicle?

Early morning of August 30th.

Another thing I wanted to mention was that this doesn't look like a place someone would hide to sleep. During the day I thought possibly but I waited till it got dark to be sure. What I think happened was that he was looking for a place to sleep and started to go up that road. It's a very narrow 2 lane road, lake Hughes rd then realized there was no where good to park. At night that turn off looks like nothing honestly. You can't even tell that it's a road. He has a big car and uturning wasn't possible so he could easily have gone in there to turn around the tower and his car couldn't make it around the gate.

By the way there is no opening in the gate. Even if the gates were open there's no way a car could get in there.

At this point it is a 3 lane highway with a small shoulder. I'm pretty sure he could have u-turned it, if not a 3 point turn. Or maybe I'm just a crazy driver lol

It was said he went from the dam "out of the park" - so that would be to the road.

Right but who's to say he didn't park somewhere at the other end and walk up before he went and crashed. Then he could have went towards the dam because he knew where it lead

So I wonder where he was after his last call to Mom between 2:08-4:30?

timeline says he was seen passing video cam 2 times another timeline says 3 times before ending up at crash site.

Could he had been parking and trying to sleep at different areas around the lake before he ended up crashing?

Sorry, I'm still a bit confused as to the dog portion.

So, the initial dogs came out the morning of the crash? They were some sort of SAR dog (trailing or area, do we know?) They led the handlers to the water closest to the car?

(Is that correct so far?)

Then 7-10 days later (I want to say 9, but not positive so I'll go general), police K9 bloodhounds came out and they used socks and shoes and did a search from the vehicle roll spot? They led their handlers across the dam and down to the lagoon area where the scent was then lost?

Is that all correct?

TIA

Did we see him exiting the park?

Maybe RK or AF can confirm or deny this.

Is there a police sub station across from the lower lagoon entrance? Right around the area where is scent ended.

I believe there were 2 sets of bloodhounds. (3 dog searches total) Dragracerz is saying they are throwing out the initial SAR dogs because they are based on person scent. (?) Those dogs went straight down Main Ramp Rd to Governement Cove Rd to the water.

The first bloodhounds (based on shoes/socks sent from his apt) went along the water from the accident point to somewhere before the actual boat ramp & traveled up to the dam and (I'm pretty positive) stopped somewhere on the dam. There was a comment from Dragracerz that it was possible he doubled back. The 2nd set of bloodhounds went completely across the dam (as Dragracerz eluded to a page or 2 back) and then towards the lagoon exiting the park and the scent lost on Castaic Lake Dr just south of the main entrance to the Lagoon Recreation Area (per Dragracerz map on pg 9)

I hate to ask because I'm probably the only one who doesn't know, but where is the dam compared to the car? How far away?

Can somebody please tell me if the spot where the vehicle was found would show up within this picture?
I believe it would be visible within the lower margin, yes? no?
Okay - I just put an arrow on the pic that shows the location. But WS is acting up & not letting me attach anything right now.
Thank you very much. That spot looks close to the area dragracerz told us the vehicle landed. Just making sure I understood. The pic gives a broader more detailed image of the immediate ramp area due to the highfalutin camera that was probably used to take it.
Finally!
