Since I have no access to the actual court records, I have no idea what's going on. She might be gaming the system, faking mental illness (she hasn't been judged incompetent to my knowledge), or her lawyers are just playing the delaying game which we see so often in California. Continuance after continuance ad infinitum.
I've seen some cases go five, seven, ten years before a resolution. Beau Bruneau in Florida, 12 years before a not guilty by reason of insanity finding for the gruesome murder of his mother. Hundreds of court hearings, literally.
Then there are the men on death row here in California for 40 years with no execution date in sight. Incredible judicial scandal. The people of the state don't matter, the victims don't matter, the families don't matter.
I feel bad for the family of this poor man, a veteran who was tortured and killed in a horrific way, then tossed in a dumpster. This little woman is a frightful piece of work and might never be held accountable. Things that make no sense...
