Reading up on this case it sounds like Alfredo is the prime suspect... the police discovered he was having an affair when Cecilia and Rene went missing... someone had called Cecilia a few months earlier and told her they had a tape of Alfredo kissing another woman at a baby shower... was this Alfredo's baby with another woman or was he just a guest? Alfredo didn’t report her or the child missing… It didn’t seem to bother him…
what really stands out to me are the letter and the goodbye card… he supposedly left a pre-printed goodbye card with his signature and then sent a typed letter saying he was in Honduras with a lover… it wasn’t common to have personal typewriters back then unless you were rich or had a job that required a lot of typing (writer, lawyer, etc.)… Cecilia was neither… if she really wanted to leave a letter she would have handwritten it like most people did back then… I suspect Alfredo had her sign a random goodbye card for a fictitious reason (a friend moving away or something) and used it to stage the scene… the card didn’t even address Alfredo by name…
he didn’t take her wallet, her glasses, her medications or any articles of clothing for herself or Rene… Who doesn’t pack a little bag for their child even if they leave home? I am inclined to think that it was the husband who did it... as always in these cases, a jealous or unfaithful husband wanting to continue his affair, disrespecting his wife and also killing her...
