Christa Mahoney was last seen at John’s Grill on Ellis Street around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Police have confirmed that personal items including her wallet and phone were found on a Muni bus later that day. Her dog, Buddy, was also found wandering on Grant and Geary streets near Union Square in downtown San Francisco.

Friends say they are concerned for her safety since she suffers from a life-threatening, chronic illness.

Mahoney is described as standing 5’2” and weighing about 90 pounds. She has light brown hair and brown eyes and speaks with an English accent. When last seen, she was wearing an orange and white baseball cap.

A body of a woman was found in San Francisco Bay this weekend. Police said there were no signs of foul play. The ME likely won't release the identity until after the weekend. I understand. In my 40's caring for a parent with Alzheimers and another with a stroke (plus full time job) I got Shingles. I literally cried all night for two weeks, the pain was so bad. I had a 10 pound 7 ounce baby, natural childbirth and 34 hours in labor was not even close to the Shingles pain. At the end, I totally understood someone ending their life due to chronic severe pain. I do hope she is found but praying she is at peace.

I saw on the FB "Missing and Homeless" page that she was found deceased but found it odd that it's nowhere else in the media. Where did they get the information, I wonder.

Body Found in Bay Identified as Missing Daly City Woman

The body of a woman found in the San Francisco Bay last week has been identified as that of 37-year-old Daly City resident Christa Mahoney, who went missing last month, according to the San Francisco medical examiner's office.

Mahoney was last seen on Jan. 26, after having eaten lunch with her dog Buddy at downtown San Francisco restaurant John's Grill.

San Francisco police said officers recovered a body, later identified as Mahoney, on Feb. 1 in the water, but didn't specify where exactly. They also said at the time that foul play was not suspected.
