What kind of car wash was this, a running meter or pay first in full, etc? And how far was payment from the wash bays?

The car was locked, and the papers were outside. So if there was a struggle it was outside an already locked car, as no one hit a lock button on a key fob in 1971. That says to me she went somewhere and came back to the car...you wouldn't lock it if you were right with it. As for the papers, if it is confirmed they were already IN the car...why take them out? You wouldn't stand in the midst of a car wash with paper, unless she was headed to drop them off nearby and left the car there for a bit. "While it dried" possibly...? What the papers were may or may not be relevant, but I'd sure like to know if there were were more, fewer, or unknown in the mix signaling she either went somewhere around there or was given some. And which side of the car they were on.
