San Joaquin County Sheriff Facebook:

Help us find these three AT RISK children!

Case # 22-21577

Due to an ongoing “substantial danger to the physical and emotional health” of Christopher, Evangeline, and Angelica Pinon, they were ordered by the Court to be surrendered to Child Protective Services. Their mother, Karri Dominguez, did not show up at the pre-arranged time and place.

The children are believed to be with Michael and Karri, and they are known to frequent the I-5 / March Lane area. Both are wanted for parental abduction, child endangerment, and violation of a court order.

An Amber Alert is pending, but not authorized at this time since we do not know what vehicle, if any, they are using.

If you know where Karri, Michael, Christopher, Evangeline, or Angelica are, please reach out to us! As always, you can remain anonymous.

Deputies are searching for two parents who abducted their three children they were supposed to surrender by court order, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said. [Snip]...but the sheriff's office said Dominguez did not show up at the pre-arranged time and place where she was supposed to hand the children over.

“substantial danger to the physical and emotional health” of the children... [Snip] The sheriff's office said an Amber Alert is pending because it doesn't have vehicle information.

They have no known vehicle but are known to frequent Interstate 5 and March Lane in Stockton, Calif. They are wanted immediately and anyone who knows their location is advised to call 209-468-4400.

if they were in serious danger, why were they to meet and surrender them? i hope the kids are safe and i hope the parents get help they need.

also i believe this area is not far from where the shooter has shot a few of the victims.

substantial danger to the physical and emotional health” of the children...
Is that to increase the urgency, or is it true and if so, as cvaldez1975 asks, why would they be asked to bring them in vs. taking them... if the level of concern for their safety is substantial?

Not to derail this thread at all, but, I'd like more information about this. If you could tag me in the related thread it would be great

They have been found.

LATHROP, Calif. — Two parents are now facing charges of child abduction and child abuse in San Joaquin County. According to a news release, a deputy stopped a car for expired registration in the area of Main Street and Olive Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Monday.

The driver and passenger were identified as 36-year-old Laura Burkett and 49-year-old Michael Pinon, a man suspected of parental abduction after his three children weren’t surrendered to Child Protective Services by their mother last week.

Around 11 a.m. Monday, deputies found the three children in a home in the 17000 block of Stone Cellar Way in Lathrop, along with their mother, Karri Dominguez.

The news release says two other children and two adults were in the home, and meth was found in the house -- easily in reach of the children.

Pinon and Dominguez were arrested and booked on warrants of child abduction, child abuse and disobeying a court order. Their three children were left with Child Protective Services to be placed with a family.

****************

"Methamphetamine, meth pipes, and other drugs were located throughout the house, easily within reach of the children," the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

“There was a bubble [pipe] in pretty much every bedroom,” Deputy Nick Goucher with the sheriff’s office told SFGATE on the phone. “There was significant paraphernalia on dressers and tables throughout the house.”

I was wondering same. Aren't the children removed first and then an investigation and determination follows? Maybe this was a special circumstance. idk I'm just imaging the fear and deep sadness that the children would endure as that date drew near. A parent or both parents may be deeply devastated, too. But children always are when removed from parent(s), regardless of the situation. MOO
