According to this link the area where his car was found (mile marker 10 on Glendora Ridge Road) appears to be in the middle of the woods. Oddly, human remains were found right near there last fall. Thanks, I see that now. I think I passed over it assuming that it was just an organizational thing where the "missing persons detail" was part of the homicide bureau.

Investigators have identified the remains as those of Christopher Poland, 40, said coroner's Chief Brian Elias.
