GUILTY CA - Classic (Orson West, 3) & Cincere (Orrin West, 4), still missing, Calif. City, *Mistrial on counts 4 & 5)* 21 Dec 2020 #8

Well, I don't think that sentencing will be any surprise. I am glad that Orrin and Orson have some justice. People did care about those boys.

Great irony. No doubt the Wests parental rights will be terminated, convicted child killers have zero rights to their children. Let's hope that their children get placed in a better home than the Wests provided.

Pommy Mommy will be here later to put all tweets together in one post.
It is much easier to read.

I am confused about the guilty of second degree murder and not guilty of second degree murder.
OK only in regards to Orson, I see.
I can kind of see this. We really do not know how he died.

I'm not understanding this (as per link in #750):

Jurors found Trezell guilty of:
-Second-Degree Murder
Jurors did not find a verdict of Trezell in:
-Second-Degree Murder

Jurors found Jacqueline guilty of:
-Second-Degree Murder
Jurors did not find a verdict of Jacqueline in:
-Second-Degree Murder

Does this apply to separate children?

Yep, I welcome ease of reading. I apologise for the flurry of tweets, was just the first source I found that laid out exactly what the charges were. Though I listened to the verdict being read, I had immediately forgotten what they were.

I believe it’s guilty of 2nd degree murder as it relates to the death of one child, and a hung jury, as it relates to the death of the other.

I don’t believe that any counts came back as ‘not guilty.’

That's a great point! Nobody thought they were innocent and came close to also being convicted on those 2 counts. I respect that they tried but looks like there is enough to keep them in prison for the rest of their miserable lives. I hope the other children are told in a sensitive way. No one wins.

Thank you!, it was the media worded it. It will most likely be retried, we will see July 13th.

Which child did that pertain to? The one the other sib says he saw sick, or the one killed after that?
Cincere (Orrin) was the child 12.y.o saw sick, then deceased.
Classic (Orson) was the child who 12y.o. never saw again after he heard the loud thump in the night four days later.

They failed to reach a verdict on charges related to Classic.

Just wanted to say the child was 10 y/o at the time. Sorry to be picky.
