What is the number of years they can potentially receive?
Pommy posted an earlier article that stated 15 years to life for the second degree manslaughter count, with other counts it will be more, imo

I often think about what these 2 sweet boys may have grown into and what they may have contributed to society that we will never see. So sad. I'm glad justice has prevailed.

How does that work, 2nd degree murder AND involuntary manslaughter. Seems like it would be one or the other? Or is involuntary manslaughter automatically 2 nd deg. murder in Cal? Was that explained? Geez I hate people who haven't followed a case then helicopter in! :p:p
It was explained back in jury instructions a week ago . Check KGET tweets or my not so good notes.

coming in here to say thank God!

On july 13 the DA will announce if they will retry the deadlocked charges. how does that work, it is a whole retrial or just those counts?

By the way, somewhere in the maze of tweets posted here,
coming in here to say thank God!

Just the deadlocked counts, but a whole new trial for those.

MOO, of course

Well, 3 hots and a cot for T and J at our expense. Probably tv and classes too.
Time for Justice reform.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Just those 2 counts.
Sorry I did not see this was already answered.

Thank you and @cuffem for all your hard work keeping this thread updated. I am so glad there was justice today and hope for very long sentences for the Wests. I also hope the other boys find loving homes and aren't forced to deal with the adoptive grandparents. IMO, the cycle of abuse began in both of those homes and perhaps is generational.

Pommy Mommy helped with the tweets and the Media thread everyday. She even started the thread from the beginning.

Two of the boys are bio children of the Wests so I believe they will still have some visiting rights. I doubt they will ever see the 2 adoptive children. All IMO.
I wonder if TW's brother or parents will try to gain custody of the 2 bio boys?

What is the number of years they can potentially receive?
Per googling:
On second-degree manslaughter - 15years to life for each parent.

Willful cruelty of a child - 2-6 years X 2 for each parent

Then add on Filing a false report to law enforcement- 6 months to each parent
MOO
This is all up to the Judge

Unfortunately, I’d expect all the sentences to run concurrently, with plenty of time off for good behavior. I hope I’m wrong.

That is what I was thinking. I hate when they do sentencing that way.

I'm a bit baffled by the way the verdicts were split, but am so happy to see justice for one of the boys. Hopefully there will be another trial for the other.

Thanks again to everyone who posted the updates here.

Let's all take a moment of silence for the boys, raise a glass of whatever we drink to a partial victory, and ask the Powers That Be to protect more children from the kinds of fates so many are suffering at the hands of abusive adults.

If I understand things correctly, the jury members all believed the children who had seen one boy dying. However, a few of them couldn’t make the leap to believing the charges that related to the other boy, without the eyewitness account. So, the split verdict.

Am very relieved!
so glad the jury got it right.
With what they had....I think we have to be grateful and thanks be to god that this pair of monsters have been convicted and will serve hopefully 20.

Anything less will be an injustice.
