Interestingly, the last mention of her is the sheriff reaffirming his belief that Henry Lee Lucas was responsible for her death.
"Colusa sheriff’s Detective Jim Wayman that he is convinced Lucas was responsible for the strangulation of an unidentified young woman whose body was found in a wheat field in southern Colusa County on June 6 1980 “I went back to Texas in February and talked to him” Wayman said “He knew that she was not shot or knifed He said he strangled her” That was something only the killer could have known he said But more importantly Wayman said “He drew me a map and it was almost down to the foot The only problem he said he went east off the freeway (Interstate 5) when he really went west “He said he went a half mile east of the freeway then 75 yards north and about 40 feet off County Road” Wayman said By our calculations Wayman said the killer “went six-tenths of a mile west instead of five-tenths of a mile went about 210 feet north and then 52 feet off County Road” Lucas also accurately described the towns of Dunnigan and Ar-buckle Wayman said There was another young woman who died under similar circumstances but Wayman said Colusa officials could not connect Lucas with the crimes even though he tried to confess to that one as well."
