This is just awful. Beyond awful, in fact. His body was allegedly burned in front of their three children.

A couple allegedly tortured and murdered a 70-year-old Vietnam War veteran in Hanford, Calif. in an attempt to gain access to his financial information, police say.

Kenneth Coyle, a retired contractor for Naval Air Station Lemoore first met Stacie Mendoza, one of the accused murderers, in a Hanford restaurant where she worked as a waitress, according to the Hanford Police Department.

How awful. This was pure manipulation of this vet.
Jose and Stacie Mendoza allegedly restrained, beat and suffocated Kenneth Coyle, 70, at his home in Hanford, California, on April 5 or 6, while interrogating him about his finances, according to police. The coroner's office has yet to announce Coyle's cause of death, but police said they suspect blunt force trauma and suffocation.

just speechless. The inhumanity... and while Mr. Coyle won't suffer any longer, I hope he is remembered by those who knew and loved him with a warm antidote, a silly recollection, tales about his service...

but wow, those kids who had to watch this... just wow. I hate people.
