Again, the part about the cell phone was included in the re-sentencing memo. As Lyle shares a cell with several other inmates, there's no way of knowing if he ever used it. There has been no evidence provided of the second cell phone or how Lyle first began contacting the British woman. The photos themselves are a few months old. Someone (most likely in the UK) leaked the the pictures and the "story" with the intent of trying to turn supporters and the public against Lyle and to potentially sabotage him for the upcoming hearings, IMO. Nothing coincidental.

His wife has already stated that they are separated and she does not consider this cheating. If it doesn't bother her, there's no reason why it should bother anyone else. If the brothers' marriages aren't working out, does that make them bad people? Does it prove that they fabricated the abuse by their parents (which many have accused them of without proof)? I'm not sure why some are so preoccupied with Lyle and Erik's personal lives.

This is not the first time, nor will it be last time that false or exaggerated stories about Lyle and Erik have been published or reported on. It's been going on since their arrest and will likely continue, even if they are released. There are people who have been and always will be against them and are not above doing dishonest or invasive things, including invading their privacy and the privacy of their loved ones. Even Erik's attorney Leslie Abramson was tracked down and accosted recently.

Several years back, Erik was accused of transporting drugs in prison and was punished for it (solitary confinement). An investigation cleared him of any wrongdoing and the entire thing reeked of a set-up, but that didn't stop tabloid publications and online programs from accusing him of drug-trafficking and claiming it was "proof" that he's an evil person. That should give you an idea of what they are up against, will continue to be up against during this process, and even if they are freed it will likely continue to some degree. The backlash that Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been receiving since her release is an example of that.

This is not true -- specific to LM's illegal behavior cited in the DM (linked above) to enable contact with his latest girlfriend, infractions typically have a direct link to the release of any DOC inmate!

To be clear, inmates already have use of tablets and phones, and LM was twice caught this year with a contraband cell phone used to keep in contact with his UK gf.

LM is not special, and needs to be treated like any other inmate where seldom do you find the parole board agreeing to release any inmate with recent violations on their record. LM can now wait another 18 months before being considered for release-- like any other violating inmate. Clearly, LM's sense of entitlement has not changed whatsoever. MOO

Since then, their romance has spiced up and even led to Lyle getting busted by prison guards at the top-security Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California, for possessing a contraband cell phone he was using to contact his new squeeze.

A record of that incident was included in ousted Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón's resentencing memo, filed in Los Angeles at the end of October. It showed he was caught with the phone on March 15 in the cell he shares with 'multiple other people'.

Despite being busted, DailyMail.com has learned that Lyle has since acquired a second illicit cell phone, which he has been using to stay in touch with the University of Manchester student.
Red emphasis mine.

Sadly, I have to agree.
Omo.

Ref the Menendez Resentencing Report linked at #781: Pursuant to Section 1172.1, subd (a)(4), the Court may consider an inmate's prison disciplinary record as on of the factors among others in evaluating whether he should be resentenced. Here, LM has six Rule Violation Reports (RVR's) in over 30 years -- 2 of which occurred in 2024!

IMO, the recent violations are indicative of LM feeling empowered, celebrated, entitled-- compared to his earlier otherwise compliant history when he believed he was spending his life in prison.

And let's be clear-- LM is a 56 yr old man committing prison infractions to talk to his UK girlfriend -- appalling that his parents are being blamed for his illicit prison behavior 35+ years later! SMH...

A hearing on whether Lyle and Erik Menendez should be given a chance at parole has been postponed to January.

Judge Michael Jesic said that he needed more time to get up to speed on the case, and would not be ready by Dec. 11, which had been the date for the hearing.

The judge also wants to give Nathan Hochman, who will be sworn in as Los Angeles district attorney on Dec. 2, a full opportunity to weigh in. He set new dates of Jan. 30 and 31.

Unfortunately, like the "they did it for money" unproven theory, the fabrication theory has stuck to this case like glue, despite the lack of evidence, because certain people have continued to promote these myths to mislead the public.

You don't need evidence or proof the child abuse story is fabricated. The burden of proof is on the defense side making the claims of child abuse. Sort of an important fact.

The defense had plenty of evidence of abuse, much of which was blocked or limited in the second trial. Those are important facts.

I wonder if Erik ever gets annoyed with Lyle and the damage he keeps doing to their cause.

He always seemed really unlikeable out of the two and now he is dating a 21 year old when he is late 50’s. I bet her parents are not impressed with what’s going on.

"Dating" a murderer who stays in prison in a different country doesn't seem to me a normal form of behaviour.
How strange
Why to waste time this way?

Yes, and he won’t be allowed in the U.K. even if he gets released. We definitely don’t want a convicted murderer here. We have enough of our own issues without adding him to the pile.

So it’s never going to work when she has her entire life ahead of her.

We could have a whole thread just on this phenomenon alone. There are so many potential reasons, such as attraction to danger or to those who seem powerful due to the crimes they've committed (despite the fact they are incarcerated). Some individuals might have nurturing and rehabilitation fantasies, feeling a desire to save or fix the person in prison. Others might struggle with low self-esteem issues which leads them to feel safer in a relationship that isn't viable in the conventional and real world. Also, in cases like this, you can throw in the possibility of the person wanting fame and attention for being involved with the criminal. So many different reasons! jmo.

It's called hybristophilia. She gets a sexual thrill out of his crimes and visiting him in prison.I can’t believe she traveled all the way from the UK to spend a few minutes with him. It’s so bizarre.

What is wrong with Lyle? He couldn’t control himself until after their resentencing trial? 35 years in prison and he couldn’t wait a few more months? Eric must be so pissed! Lyle was always the troublemaker lol.

Men are cheating on their wives all across the country, and this has nothing to do with the murder conviction, but all this makes him look really bad. Cheating on his wife and caught with a contraband phone twice! It makes it look like he has no self control, and…well…it appears he doesn’t.

Eric’s fate isn’t tied to Lyle’s because of his behavior behind bars, but they almost seem like Siamese twins. Eric being released and Lyle staying in prison would be unexpected.

For some reason, I thought the hearing was next week. It is two weeks away. I don't know if they will have a chance at parole. It seems likely they wouldn't re-offend, but who knows?

JMO, IMO, and all other disclaimers.
