Oh @borndem please don't be sad - Dad's FB verifies umbrella and boots. (Hope I'm allowed to post that, or Mods will beat my 🤬🤬🤬-umed LOL).
Thanks for this. It seems possible that she was taking those items to her homeless friend. Especially considering how much rain they were getting. MOO
ETA: Was there any mention of exactly where those items were found? She could have dropped them if she slipped.

Don't look any more -- I read "belongings," and I 🤬🤬🤬-umed clothing.
Please, please, please forgive my horrible and scary assumption. So glad you asked, and I deeply apologize. Oh, I hope you didn't dig around very long. I am so sorry and embarrassed.
OMG! You're good! I didn't look long, thought it would be easier to just ask you LOL. No Worries!!!!

Very good point. I would love to know if they were able to find/talk to this homeless friend for some clarity.

Thanks, that's helpful. She was seen by where she lives and then at a supermarket nearby and the boots, umbrella, empty tent bag were found under the bridge. It seems likely that she was taking supplies and food to her homeless friend to me. This is MOO

The link is to a photo of a swollen NAPA River flowing under the Lincoln Avenue Bridge. Upon zooming in, it appears the depth is 17 ft. On the night CM disappeared it was 11 ft. This gives you some indication of the force of this river after a torrential rainfall. MOO

Thanks for the photo. I'm sure it was really flowing on the night she went missing. And the banks were probably really muddy and slippery as well.

Thanks for the info & I feel better now.
I don't use FB, so I miss out on a lot of details...

Leaving her umbrella, I guess I can understand, but leaving her boots? That's scary, IMO, if that's what she was wearing -- OTOH, perhaps she was wearing regular shoes and was taking the boots & umbrella to the woman she was helping. That would make sense. If so, what a caring and generous person she was to do that, especially considering where the needy woman was staying.
Where is she, folks?

A 37-year-old Napa woman has been reported missing after last being seen Monday night, according to Napa Police.

Crystal McCarthy was reported missing Tuesday morning after her boyfriend told police he had last seen and talked to her the night before, at their home in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to police Sgt. Pete Piersig. The boyfriend said he was working Monday evening and learned McCarthy was not home when he returned shortly after midnight.

Authorities ply waters of Napa River as search for Crystal McCarthy continues

Napa city and county authorities searched a stretch of the Napa River on Sunday in their search for Crystal McCarthy, the city resident who has been missing for nearly a week.

The search took place from about 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and involved a Napa County Sheriff’s Office boat patrol under Napa Police’s direction, according to police Sgt. Garrett Smith. No signs were found of the 37-year-old McCarthy, who police said was last heard from on the night of Dec. 13 during a major Bay Area rainstorm.

Sunday’s search, which followed a California Highway Patrol air search Thursday, extended from Kennedy Park in south Napa to the downtown district, Smith said. The sheriff’s office also contributed an aerial drone to the effort, according to Sgt. Kyle Eddleman of that agency.

Anyone with information about Crystal McCarthy or what she was doing on the night of Dec. 13 is asked to contact Napa Police Detective Brandt Keown at 707-257-9592 or [email protected].

Why would she take her boots off in that weather? Imo, her boots and umbrella could have been placed there to stage a scene. Moo.

Or maybe she wasn't wearing the boots but taking them to her homeless friend? Just another possibility.

I wonder if the homeless friend is missing too, since the items were still there? Moo.

I wonder if anyone knew who the homeless friend was or where she stayed. It's possible that she never made it to the location of the homeless friend. It would be interesting to know where the homeless camps are along the river there.

I still want to know what happened to the food and who it was for. If CM was expecting a food delivery why did roommate retrieve it. Was CM taking the food to her homeless friend? Doesn’t seem like good weather to be taking food to her.
Was CM gone before the food arrived? Was it typical for her to get carryout for her husband?
Did roommate tell CM that her food had arrived?
Probably not significant but because it's confusing I'd like to know the details. Also like to know if roommate is female or male.
MOO

I agree with others, I'd like to know more about this homeless woman and if others met her. Has she been back since? Etc
