poor baby... i have a 6 year old baby and i can't think of this ever happening to me... i think i would go out on the street and look for clue by clue even if i had to go into houses and check everything... in this case i think there are several possible options
someone had kidnapped her while she was passing through the neighborhood which would have been very quick and well done...
she ran away... although this is not confirmed because i haven't seen many sources that explain it, she was talking about running away... it is possible that as soon as her brothers were out of sight, she left... however there are simply no footprints or any other known evidence of it... also, how far could her six year old self have gotten before something went wrong?
I also read that her parents were divorced (but this is not confirmed) and lived in separate houses... it is possible that one of the parents kidnapped her as an act of revenge or out of jealousy...
or the neighbors kidnapped her...
and again the overconfidence of the north americans... a 6 year old baby should never be alone, always in sight of the parents...
I hope baby that one day it will be known what happened to you and that your final moment was not painful...
whatever the case
rest in peace crystal

Crystal Ann Tymich

On June 30, 1994, 6-year-old Crystal Ann Tymich played with her three older brothers near their South Los Angeles home. She was last seen picking peaches from a neighbor's tree.

The little girl disappeared sometime between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. that summer day. She was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt, shorts with a floral print, and mermaid tennis shoes.

More than 30 years later, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement continue their search for her.

Contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate if you have any information about her disappearance.

Bumping for Crystal.

I know that some people here speculated her brothers might have been involved, but I highly doubt it. Eye witness testimony, and memory itself, are incredibly fallible: I wouldn’t be surprised if the truth of what happened that day was some combination of the different events they recalled. Perhaps they were riding bikes together, then spent time tossing fruit into the neighbor’s yard, or vice versa; either way, I think an opportunistic predator grabbed Crystal in the minutes she was alone and away from her brothers.

Maybe it was someone who had been watching her for awhile, or merely a creep who happened to be in the area at the time. I can only hope that her remains will be stumbled upon, or someone will give up a piece of information that breaks the case open. Thinking of you, Crystal. May you be at peace, wherever you are.
